Hello everyone,

I'm new to Porsche and taking time to spec out a GTS. Below is my build

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNATGSC1

Can you please let me know if I'm missing anything or if I can get rid of anything unimportant.

So far the options are adding up quite fast. I'm coming from a Tesla and was thinking of adding Innodrive for being stuck in traffic but I can't justify the cost.

Why a GTS with a panoramic roof…. Car looks so much sportier without a pano.

If you are choosing leather instead of the Race-tex interior, consider change to leather steering wheel for $0.

Totally agree. In fact, if the Taycan configurator allowed me to keep a racetex interior with a leather steering wheel, I would've done it.

Race-tex/alcantara seems to hold up just fine on seating surfaces, but not so much on the "oh sh1t" handles, per my experience with a current alcantara steering wheel on another Porsche.

All GREAT advice above
FoD Innodrive (and lane assist) is FREE, yes FREE for 3/12 in UK if you have ACC
Try before you buy
I have specced ACC on my GTS just so I can get something for free from Porsche

RS Spyder Wheels look great - Cheaper than Mission E and much rarer
Keep Red brakes for cool contrast - blue/red ok
Look at W1NGE's Volcano Grey Stealth Taycan - Cheeky flash of Red caliper for contrast lovely
Also silver trim on dark cars looks better

Lighter colours do show off GTS 'all the trim is black' better
Gentian Blue is however nice and the trim doesn't completely disappear at least
Dont bother making the mirrors black

Here is the 3rd person in a row saying drop the Carbon.
Inside or out I think its hot hatch naff
GTS Sports kit is unique to GTS - and free - keep it with the unique GTS side skirt logo

I would keep Race Tex as I have banged on about before but if you want leather
you don't need OLEA - All the interiors including base are sumptuous and gorgeous

Also I would ditch electric ports. The first time they are frozen shut and malfunction at
sub zero temperatures in deepest darkest northern BC you will be cursing like a lumberjack.
To be specific the way they open and close and when they are open they look better.
When they are shut (so 99% of the time) they look worse. What's that bit of black plastic stuck on the side?
The manual ones will never let you down

Also 4+1 seats gives you 14 way seat pattern on the rear seats. It doesnt match the 18 way seat pattern on the front seats. Once you have seen this you cant un see it!
Unless you really need the useless middle seat and/or the ski hatch save the money

Enjoy yourself with another few hours on the configurator
We have saved you $10,000

Cheers
InnoDrive.is crap as you will discover once you get off the beaten track. If it sounds too good to be true then you know what follows

InnoDrive does not drive the car. I have it and I’m not even sure what it does. I bought it based on feedback from a dealer who posted on here about all the options he recommended to spec. Save your money.

I would strongly suggest you visit your dealer to see the Club leather samples. On seeing meranti brown, and touching it, I was left in no doubt the premium leather was just not worth it. All of the colours are quite dark as well, and a cutting edge EV should have an interior that doesn't look like every ICE car on the road.

It also comes with either of the accent packages: shiny, tacky plastic and neodym looks out of place in a sports car - it visually turns the interior into something akin to a luxury Mercedes.

For the GTS, I would seriously consider the exclusive RS Spyder wheels. Mission E are available on all models, as nice as they are.

Carbon SportDesign package is ugly. All it adds is a rear side skirts (that look like dirt magnets) and alters the shape of the rear diffuser. It also removes the "GTS" model designation in the side wings, which is exclusive. And that comes at a serious price premium. I would seriously consider dropping something that wouldn't look out of place on a boy racer's Astra.

InnoDrive I don't get where Porsche is a drivers car brand. Why would you want a machine driving for you?

All weather floor mats look ugly. If you really do want club leather, it seems a big miss to not option the matching floor mats, that will really complete your interior look. Also consider the lipped matching boot liner as well.

Consensus on PSCB brakes is they are unnecessary unless you are tracking your car. Standard brakes are fine and allegedly superior in some normal road driving conditions. You could just pay the c. $1000 and get standard calipers painted black.

If you did reconsider the SportDesign Package, Club Leather, PSCB brakes, and opted for the RS Spyder's (minus circa $500 as you don't need them painted), you have just removed near $11,750 in options.

That is a lot of change to instead up-spec your interior or otherwise put towards PPF and ceramic coating your Gentian Blue paintwork.

Leather Interior

In the configurator you can visually not see any difference between standard leather and club leather. I'll be sure to visit the dealership to see the difference in person. Does anyone know if the seat backs are in leather for both options?

I do like the gold accents and primarily only opted for club leather due to this. I hope they don't look cheap in person because in the configurator they look great. I feel it adds contrast to an all black interior. I was also surprised to find out that you have to opt in for a leather steering wheel.

Race Tex

I don't mind Race Tex seats, but I've been advised that the seats don't last as long as leather. I actually prefer the GTS emblem in the race tex seats. When I select "Interior Package with Race-Tex/Race-Tex Seats" I can no longer have the steering wheel rim in leather without removing the entire package. I feel like the race tex steering wheel will wear even faster than the Race Tex seats.

I am leaning toward the B-Pillar Trim in Race Tex

Carbon SportDesign package

I agree that the rear carbon does not look good and the side carbon is not necessary. I noticed on the taycan turbo configurator you can select if you want the carbon side skirts, rear, and front all as individual options. But on the GTS configurator it comes as an all around expensive package. I'd much rather only opt to have the front carbon fiber lip and keep all the rest as is including the GTS logo on the side skirts.

I do admire the front of the carbon lip and I feel like it makes a big difference in looks. I contacted my Porsche rep to see if I can order it separately but he didn't seem to be able to do anything outside of what the configurator allows. Has anyone else been able to choose only the front carbon fiber lip instead of the entire package in their GTS configurator?

All weather floor mats

Below is the only options I see for floor mats. I saw some expensive options in leather interior section as well but having a hard time justifying it.

I may consider these aftermarket floor mats, I've used this brand before:

InnoDrive

I desire to drive the car myself most of the time but not when I'm stuck in traffic which is projected to get worse over the years. After using autopilot for a number of years its less stressful to not have to repeatedly gas and break in bumper to bumper traffic and let the car do it for you.

I don't want innodrive for the purpose of letting the car drive for me all the time. Porsche is a drivers car otherwise I would be buying the Model S Plaid with FSD.

I will definitely try before I buy. Perhaps I can just settle for adaptive cruise control, since I only need it for start/stop traffic, not for turning. Can someone comment on their experience with it?

RS Spyder wheels vs Mission E wheels with PSCB brakes

I'm still debating on this. The only reason I chose the Mission E wheels is because of the body paint match. Unfortunately it comes as a package with PSCB brakes (can someone tell me why? is it due to clearance?). This ends up being a $10K option alone. I like the look of the paint matched Mission E wheels and have pictures of another members car with this setup below

Porsche Taycan My Gentian Blue GTS Build 1648268935045

Not really sure still if its worth the 10K but the member who's turbo S this is stated that it was.

Mirrors

In this same forum, I saw a few members state that the mirror trim looked like cheap plastic if you didn't get the gloss black option. Maybe this is different for the GTS?

I do believe there is some room to save 10K or more. I'll continue reviewing the spec for quite a long time.
