It'll be interesting to see what happens to the traction and 12-volt batteries in BEVs that are held at port for months, without any chance for charging either... I wonder what standard SoC is on traction batteries at time of being loaded onto ships in Emden...
In an attempt to fix my Track Your Dream, they gave me access to the car over the app. I haven't exchanged security codes, but I can see the car and I can see that it is well charged and currently eligable for over-the-air software, which is pretty ironic. They must have them either plugged in or they must attend to them on a regular basis. It's been there two months now, presumably out in the open.

I hope they are doing this in Benicia also....

I hope it’s accurate. I’d guess it’s a last position/state of charge showing in the app. My car has all batteries disconnected and is partially dismantled at the dealership 5 miles away yet the app continues to look like it’s updated every time I refresh.

Rewind to last summer I had one of the cars that sat for four months post production with no updates, and everything functioned properly (for a couple months until the main fuse blew and rendered the red Electrical System Fault). I have no idea what they did with the car during those four months in Zuffenhausen but figured it was well taken care of based on the good condition it arrived.

Today I called a dealer who has a new MY22 CT Turbo S on the lot. It is really close to the one I have being held at port in San Diego, this one arrived at their dealership in late Feb/early Mar. I figured (in a fit of impatience) that if at some point the waiting gets insane, I can get my deposit back from the car that's stuck (maybe??) and then try and buy the one at the dealer. (There aren't many at all out there.)

I learned two things, one related to this thread, one unrelated.

Un-related: they won't sell it out of area, will only sell it to a local buyer. Their reasoning is that if they sell to another geo, Porsche see that they don't have "local demand" and will give the next allocation for that spec to a dealer in a high-demand area, and they'll lose future inventory. New to me.

Related: .... wait for it .... Unbelievably, even this car is on the lot it is currently under a Stop Sale order waiting on a part, and they can't sell it!! How it made it out of the port is a mystery - but apparently no CTs are safe! The SA said the issue was an engine mount needed to be replaced and the part has been "made" but they don't have it yet. Not sure that's any more accurate that what anyone else has heard - my guess is all the CTs from this period have the same issue.

And so I wait.

this is the most believable information I have heard yet about this situation. If this is true why couldn’t Porsche have just said this in the first place? They clearly need to work on communications. Thanks for sharing!

I was hoping you misspoke when you said engine mount but really meant some kind of motor mount bracket. My SA says the engine mount stop sale is on Panameras ? It would be nice if Porsche just told us what was really going on.

Local dealer has a 2022 CT on the lot. I'm assuming that has a Stop Sale as well. I might contact them and see what they say. Not interested in it though, because its not Mamba Green and I've always wanted a green 911, so a green Taycan will be close enough.

talked to Porsche Marin today. They say the parts are scheduled to arrive on the 20th and they expect cars to be released starting on the 22nd. I hope these dates stick. ?
What port are you stuck at? I have a call scheduled for Monday.

Porsche Marin is up north in cali. I’d guess the Benicia Port. I can’t understand all the weird communication and lack of transparency. My SA called Friday and said the cars were being held bc they needed a signature from the EPA. No parts or recalls he said. I feel like every single person on this thread has been told a different reason. Ugh hopefully, they do start getting released soon. I don’t believe its EPA holding the cars up bc another dealer in my area just received a CT and called me to see if I wanted to pick it up. It had just arrived to port and was released within days. It seems like it’s just a certain set of cars that are being held and that seems like a parts or software issue.
