  1. Submarine Taycan in flood waters

Flash flood on my street, ~8” of water, seeped into the cooling system on my Panamera ST and it took around $17k and two months to repair. Not worth testing water depth in anything short of a Land Rover with a snorkel (that you don’t own).
  2. Fuel vs Electron

You’re looking only at the cost of energy without looking at total costs, specifically maintenance on the ICE which is easily quantified. When you factor that part, you’re looking at further costs per mile using the ICE for long distance driving.
  3. Battery capacity and range estimates

Headwind or tailwind can have a dramatic effect too. For what it’s worth, the cars trip planner has been spot on for me, +/- 2% for short and long distances. I’ve also experienced crazy winds that severely impact the range and I will go slower (or faster in the case of a tailwind) to stretch...
  4. Bad smell.

@Luc1 @Roberto S What was the smell like? Our car suddenly started smelling like urine/ammonia coming from the passenger seat area and there is zero reason for it. Dogs stay in the cargo area on a removable trunk mat (that smells fine), we don’t allow kids to eat in the car, we use rubber floor...
  5. Taycan Production Halt?

I’d put my money on this. Received email yesterday they’re going to replace my HV heater and dealership said it’s at least a one month wait here in the states due to back ordered parts.
  6. Used Taycan with replaced battery - red flag?

You could view this as a positive attribute as well. As someone who just had their battery recalled+replaced at 20k miles, I’m more confident in the car today plus I have a brand new battery that’s showing better range and efficiency.
  7. Do you remember last time your filled up your ICE car?

That’s very precise. I had this discussion with a Chevy truck driver that took interest in my EV at the Paducah, KY EA station during a road trip last year (inadvertently boxing me in). His brother worked at the local coal plant and I leveled with him that all electrons are the same despite the...
  8. Do you remember last time your filled up your ICE car?

Usually about 1x per month, though I took our panamera ST on a roadtrip last weekend and was impressed with the 700+ mile range on one tank (24ish gallons I believe). Filled up with 91 octane at a Love’s truck stop in a random Oklahoma town and had to floor it getting back onto the highway to...
  9. Lot of Taycan for sale with low miles

Removing Macans from the equation, the lionshare of used 1-2yo Porsches available for sale nearby me in Dallas/Texas are super low miles - many executive type luxury and sports cars from other OEMs seem to follow this trend too. These owners Uber to airports, fly everywhere and live close to...
  10. Car Seat recommendations needed

Doona all day. It wasn’t invented yet with my first kid and we got one for our second kid. It’s a car seat that also drops wheels to become a stroller. And it clips into a base that you leave in the car. Total game changer. You never need to carry a separate stroller and, despite it weighing...
  11. Loadspace Partition Net

yes, but I believe someone mentioned you have to spec the car with the partition net from the factory to receive those mounting points.
  12. See Porsche Taycan GTS remain stable and quick in moose test and slalom

No surprises. Sedan matches handling of the sedan. The taller and heavier cross turismo was slower. Would be curious to see how the GTS ST performs - guessing right in between considering the ride height matches the sedans but it weighs slightly more?
  13. Notes from 2023 Taycan Loaner (vs. my 2021 Taycan)

Re:creaky suspension, had a brand new ‘23 RWD loaner with <20 miles and the suspension was very creaky. Ironically had the same exact loaner car again with 250 miles on it and it continued to be creaky. Coming from air suspension, wasn’t sure if that’s normal or not for steel springs.
  14. Fast Charger barely charging, works for other cars

The dealership had one. I’d get 43kw before it threw a “charging error” and stopped charging. It progressively became worse - the last couple we tried ran for a minute or two before stopping the charge.
  15. Fast Charger barely charging, works for other cars

Yes, I’ve learned from the best about the charging strategy (you and other active forum members). It was a bum car in this case.
  16. Fast Charger barely charging, works for other cars

100%. The telltale sign is hearing the coolant flow through the cord. I tried a total of six cords/plugs across three chargers at this station and no luck. The coolant was flowing on 4/6.
  17. Fast Charger barely charging, works for other cars

Yes, that’s correct on all counts (4.3kw and the location). Clearly there’s a bigger issue. On the dealership’s 50kw DCFC it would stop and say charging error (no fault codes) in 1-2% increments. The battery never eclipsed 100° through the entire ordeal and the fans were definitely blowing. I’d...
  18. Fast Charger barely charging, works for other cars

At Wichita EA Station, two of the four chargers are working but the Taycan will only pull 4.3kw. Lucid and an i3 are seeing 120kw+ from the same chargers. Any ideas why this is occurring? I’ve never had a fast charge issue before and charged 3 hours ago with no problems at an EA station in...
  19. Feeling Nauseous?

Likely attributed to seeing the YoY price increases and current interest rates.
