I ordered a CT4S in July last year. I am told build will happen soon but haven’t been asked to fix the spec yet.
I, and it would seem an awful lot of others, find the CT4S to be the sweet spot in the range so it has by far the most orders, apparently.
I put my first deposit down last July too. While some dealers gave me stories how I should be able to get an allocation and freeze the build in October or November last year and receive the car around March this year (which of course did not happen), the fact is I am still waiting and they don't even have an allocation for me. The biggest dealership in my state got a single CTT allocation since July (sadly I was not first on the wait list). They have gotten a few CT4 and even 4S. So maybe ordering the car in the sweet spot is not so bad.

PS> At the current rate Porsche is building CTT's, I should be freezing my build in ~3 years. A few more months due to this shutdown is not going to make much difference.

Getting back on the original thread topic, yesterday I received a note from my SA. He sends me an update weekly from their Porsche system. The update in the Porsche system says “Acknowledge changed delivery date”. He says that this means my delivery date (which hasnt moved in quite some time) has changed.

It is not yet clear as to whether it means that my 7/29 delivery has moved in or out. Interestingly, my freeze date was yesterday as well. This could support the OP’s note that there is something happening with Porsche production. Will advise when I get more info.
I'd assumed all dealers have access to the same system, which tracks a series of milestones for every vehicle scheduled for production. If they receive an update "acknowledge changed delivery date" I assume they can see- on the same system- what that date is. Some SAs seem to share screenshots of the full data, others just share selective data...and most seem reluctant to share any data. Dealers should have admin proactively reviewing this data and periodically updating customers (at least monthly). Or Porsche centrally get their finger out and fully roll out the automated client-facing tracking tools. They already have all of that data (and presumably much more) to manage production, all it needs is a relatively minor amount of App and related development.

So, the question is if production is halted on MY22’s and delivered as MY23, will the recently announced price increases be applied on those orders?

I have a feeling that in the near future, parts availability might not be as big an issue for German manufacturers as energy availability.

If Russia decides to shut the taps on the gas pipeline (as I believe they have to Poland and Bulgaria), Germany will be in trouble.

I wonder if they might be preparing to build up gas/oil stocks? Or ramping up preparations? Get their big industry to halt/massively scale back activity, get stocks right up, restart industry whilst seeking alternate supply and if Russia play silly buggers, close industry down again until the alternates are in place.
I think this may be spot on....

I read an article recently in the FT about the carnage to German manufacturing if Russia turns off the gas supply.

It is a safe bet that Porsche will hit you with the new MY price increases, which sucks. But in Porsche's defense, they can only produce cars when they have all the pieces, and Vladmir Putin is not helping matters.

Spot on. If the gas is shut off, it will be carnage in both Germany and Italy, and no one - other than readers of this forum - will be too worried about the impact on the delivery times for luxury vehicles from Porsche. Instead, we will be fixated on a massive recession in Europe with ramifications all over the world. We should all relax a little and consider ourselves fortunate that Porsche is still plopping out cars, even if at a reduced rate. (I know, it is easy for me to say because I already have my Taycan! I do however feel for everyone waiting on deliveries; the Taycans are freak'n awesome to drive and being denied delivery due to Russian shenanigans would for sure make my blood boil.)

Contacted my dealer and he states

Yes the MY23 models will go into production shortly, therefore your Taycan will be a MY23.

Production overall has slowed down due to the shortage of components but it hasn’t stopped completely, the factory closes for 2 weeks in August as it does every year but we haven’t received any notification to say the factory is going to be closed for an extended period of time.

Same story here - I had been told in mid April production started but just got bumped from May to June delivery when they checked on the system.
Do you know if the date in My Porsche is accurate or does the dealer have a more accurate glimpse through another system?

My SA let me know today that MY22 production has halted and my June allocation will be pushed back to a MY23....which unfortunately also means that I will get hit with the $2,700 price hike as well. Oh well, I just hope I'm able to get the car at some point with all the crazy geopolitical events going on in the world. A small price to pay in the grand scheme of things...

Not true actually. Car deliveries drive sales, sales drives the economy. Automotive industry make up ~20% of total German industry revenue. People outside this forum will definitely care if the German auto manufacturers cannot make deliveries.

It's not just Russian shenanigans. I've been waiting 10 months now and not even an allocation, even though I'm #1 on a waitlist at some dealers (who have never sold a CTT yet). Putin was only responsible for 2 of those months. I'm not saying the war in Ukraine has no effect, since it obviously does, but even if the war didn't happen, Porsche seems to have already had issues making enough Taycans.

Correct. We were in the midst of a severe supply chain crisis years before Ukraine, with 10 different knock on effects for almost any one product that you can examine in detail. Semiconductor shortage started in 2020, but didn't start wreaking havoc until 2021 when the supplies ran low as places attempted to scale back up.

This war in Ukraine and now the problems in China with Covid have only made things worse. This is extremely unlikely to resolve this year or even fully next year. It will get better, but nobody can say for sure (and anyone who claims to is smoking crack) that it won't get worse before it gets better.

Bearing in mind that nobody can tell you what will for sure happen, we are probably about to see the absolute worst of the semiconductor crisis due to a huge supply constraint in noble gases such as Neon, 50 percent of the semiconductor grade Neon + Krypton comes from Ukraine and new suppliers will not be able to make up for the shortfall for most of the rest of this year.

When is your Taycan supposed to go into production as a MY23?
Originally it was a (very provisional), July lock in date and August production start with the usual August delay (from memory). Now they don’t really want to give me a date.

New MY typically starts production around September/October. And this was the case for the ‘21 to ‘22 Taycan switchover last year which had its own set of major delays and zero feedback from Porsche. Plus don’t forget about the annual August factory shutdown that lasts ~3-4 weeks every year.

The world is definitely different now but certain things follow the same pattern every year.
