Taycan Production to Stop for a 'Substantial' Period of Time

I have a 4s that was lost on the felicity ace and it’s replacement doesn’t even have a lock date anymore. ??‍

I thought I read an article that there were no Taycans on the FA...

Nevermind: There were unspecified cars from Porsche not 100% identified as Taycans but were concluded to be Taycans. Damn.

FWIW, my USA ordered base rwd 2022 taycan (deposit paid last month)
was locked 27 April '22, Porsche "track your dream" indicates "scheduled for production"

I ordered my car which was fixed on 4.15. Same Base RWD 2022 frozen blue and I am in NY. My dealership said they track the car on their end, how did you receive an update above?

I emailed [email protected] with my config reference and a day or two later they sent me a "Welcome to Porsche – Track Your Dream!" email with a link. My dealer contact was also surprised I was successful, otherwise he promised weekly updates - good luck with the dream tracker and love your color spec too!

It amazes me that dealers don't tell customers about the TYD App when ordering (mine never told me either - discovered it on a forum).
Could it be due to them not wanting to raise expectations about dates, which then results in them having to deal with complaints when dates aren't met??
Problem with that is you just get pissed when you discover everyone else has something your dealer didn't even mention

It could be some sales people don't know TYD exists. Or could be they are trying avoid the support burden of people calling to get explanations of unclear or unexpected status updates, or lack of updates, etc. TYD offers very little to benefit for the dealer, but a potential cost. Maybe they figured a few pissed customers like you is better than every customer pissed because the sales people ignore their questions about TYD updates or provide incorrect answers (partially because they also don't know what all TYD status changes mean). With current market conditions, even pissed off customers like you are not going to be canceling their orders, so they don't need to work go above and beyond to keep them.

I am not defending what they are doing, just giving you a plausible reason.

Back to OP topic, my TYD finally updated from TBD (which it has been since the shutdown in March) with full info. FYI original lock date when ordered was 4/29 before disappearing. It reappeared today saying that lock was reached 4/30

Estimated delivery now 9/16/22. Original delivery date when ordered was 8/12/22. Looks like my guess of a ~1 month delay panned out. Other milestones:

• Production date scheduled by 6/10
• Production Start 7/8
• Production Complete 7/15
• Arrival to Port Benicia 8/26
• Arrival to dealer 9/16

From the above I'm not sure if there's a long stop in production over the summer for those of us already with 2022 allocations. At least not a few months like has been suggested earlier in the thread. If so, there'd be a substantially longer delay for me. If anything, the 1 month delay is probably a combination of parts shortage and putting some of the felicity ace loss orders in front of mine

• Apr. 4, 2022 - Received Track Your Dream welcome email
• Apr. 30, 2022 - Change freeze point reached
• May 3, 2022 - ETA changed from TBD to Sep. 2, 2022

• 2022.06.24 - Start Production
• 2022.07.01 - Production Completed - CP8.0 / Ready For Transport / In Transit to Emden Port / Arrival Emden Port

I think it depends on your dealer, but from what I'm seeing with various people's updates, I think the dealer seems to have the same info that TYD shows. Sometimes TYD is blank and so the dealer may know more, but they seem to correlate

In another thread, someone said they got an email from the dealer that they had an updated delivery date. Then on TYD it seems to match up

This is interesting. I am going to try that too. My dealer told me that Track My Dream is not available in Romania. I find that a bit weird because I don’t see what order location has to do with tracking ?‍ Fingers crossed. I hope they can identify my order based on config code and name.

I’m still on phase 3 of 5 (‘your vehicle scheduled for production’) of the TYD app.
Just received an email from dealer saying production starts 1st week July.
As UK Is closer than USA to Germany (? just a little) I hope to get it 3 weeks before you guys in the States with a similar production date, but I wouldn’t put money on that.
Deposit was paid early Sept!!
In the meantime can I interest anyone in a 2019 Cayenne Hybrid??
