Taycan Production to Stop for a 'Substantial' Period of Time

I’m still on phase 3 of 5 (‘your vehicle scheduled for production’) of the TYD app.
Just received an email from dealer saying production starts 1st week July.
As UK Is closer than USA to Germany (? just a little) I hope to get it 3 weeks before you guys in the States with a similar production date, but I wouldn’t put money on that.
Deposit was paid early Sept!!
In the meantime can I interest anyone in a 2019 Cayenne Hybrid??

It amazes me that dealers don't tell customers about the TYD App when ordering (mine never told me either - discovered it on a forum).
Could it be due to them not wanting to raise expectations about dates, which then results in them having to deal with complaints when dates aren't met??
Problem with that is you just get pissed when you discover everyone else has something your dealer didn't even mention

They don't seem very upset, just seems like a statement - likely relating to the well publicized import/export delays at UK ports now that there are some increased customs controls due to exiting the common market.

I do know that here it has 5 phases but in some countries there are only 4 phases, the difference being "phase 2 - track day at Silverstone' doesn't exist in countries where there isn't a motor racing track for Porsche to use.

I ordered my GTS about a month ago through a dealer that had an allocation. It was a June build with August delivery but I was told it was just an estimate with what's going on in the world. I understood of course and figured it'll take longer but hopefully I'll get to enjoy it before the winter sets in. Today I was able to get into my TYD for the first time since I got the invite. It's been showing the umbrella man until now. It showed that my freeze point had been reached 4/30 and the ETA as 8/19! So, it looks like I'm not seeing any delays in my case.

You reckon the europeans aren't upset we left their EU club?
Trust me, I speak a few European languages, plus I'm married to one so I can tell you a few stories about how they'll never forgive us. After Germany we were the 2nd biggest next contributor financially to the club and they had a huge trade surplus with us.
Anyway enough politics, this subject always ends up in tears - lets stick to cars?

Yes it’s been trialed in a few dealers since last autumn. Just not everywhere. My dealer told me all about it as he investigated with P U.K.

not upset at all, just means Yanks might get Taycans before Brits- bigger market?

Well, my GTS apparently went into the "Start Production" phase today, so it sure seems like they're still building them, and boy am I happy about it, since I've been waiting since September

Many long time Porsche owners know how the business works, so put down a deposit in anticipation of a GTS model, even before it was announced.

I should imagine many have done the same for the electric Cayman and Macan.

They then get on the wait list before the flood of orders (deposits) come in.
