Hi all,

I want to get a Taycan on our salary sacrifice scheme through Tusker, I can get a 4s with all the options I want for £1070 ish a month. I turbo is coming in at around £200 more but I’d prob have to cut out a few things like lane assist, pano roof as I didn’t really want to spend 1200 but it’s tempting if the turbo is worth it.
I drove the 4s on Saturday, it was quick but didn’t blow me away above 60, it didn’t feel any quicker than my previous stage 1 golf r or my current stage 2 540i. So do you think the turbo is worth the extra 200 a month?

What drive mode were you in - Normal or Sport or Sport Plus (if Sports Chrono was fitted)?

4S is plenty fast enough for most folk and I don't think paying the extra would be justified IMHO.

GTS may be a consideration.

I used all modes. I felt normal mode didn’t feel that fast at all and was sluggish. Sport plus was def quick off the mark it was just getting to say 100 didn’t feel blisteringly quick as I had expected. Maybe it just didn’t feel as quick being such a smooth and quiet car, I think I need to test drive one again for longer and possibly see what it’s like being a passenger

I've driven all the cars you mention here and the golfs are not in the same league, slower for sure. Responsiveness will be in another dimension to them not even naturally aspirated can compete with EVs. Back to back your car and a 4s again.

Yeah I get what you mean about the responsiveness, it was pretty amazing off the lights! I have another test drive this sat in Swindon, they have a gts and 4s which Ill try both

Have 2022 Taycan GTS (my second Porsche GTS), probably the best deal in any Porsche because of what's included in the GTS package. It is easy to not realize how fast it is (unless you hammer the accelerator) due to the smoothness and quiet, but if you look in your rearview mirror at every stoplight, you realize that your a couple of 100 yards (meters for you) gone and everyone else is still at the light. Faster is always better, but not sure where or how much you would get to use it.

Yeah I think it will likely be the gets over the turbo now as it’s only 80 more a month which isn’t to bad. I’m sure this will feel quicker than the 4s too

Odd but even in Normal if you floor it it will drop into 1st and shift like a scalded cat albeit that not all horses are available.

So the gts with the options I want is only £80 more so that might be a good option.
You likely won't notice the .3 second difference in acceleration.

All Taycan models are fast.

However, what you are overlooking is delivery times.

If you're flexible enough that you've gone from a 4S to a Turbo, then to the GTS - I'd strongly recommend you pick any model from 4S onwards that has the soonest delivery date.

The GTS is likely to have the longest wait times where it's the most recent model and also the most desirable. Supply will be limited on purpose to maintain values.

It's in Porsche's interest.

Agree with the above, 4S had an 18 month wait, double the Turbo (which is still not released...). Are you ever going to regret having more power? The SS scheme is insanely good (wish I was on it!), enabling you to drive a £120k+ car for a fraction of other financing set-ups. Just go big, the more you spend, the more you are saving in reality!!

Do people really spend this on salary sacrifice lease schemes? Surely just cheaper to buy? I pay WAY less than that per month using Porsche's own monthly PCP scheme. Crazy.
