I had a delivery date of my Taycan RWD for this Saturday (May 14th '22), which I've been waiting for 5 months and this morning I woke up to an email from my sales advisor saying there was a software glitch preventing the issuing of the license plate.
Below you can see (sorry, it's in Dutch) the ETA of the bug fixes (Week 23 for the Taycans).
It roughly translates to:
"
Overview
Due to a software problem, the personalized login of the vehicle user to the central computer (PCM) is not possible.
This makes the PCM Web Apps, personalized services and remote access not available.
To ensure customer satisfaction, depending on the vehicle's construction status, the Gateway control unit must be programmed before delivery with an updated data status.

Vehicle usage
The vehicles may only be driven for loading and unloading purposes in the transport chain.
Further use is not permitted. Test drives should be avoided.
"

Has anyone received the same or know what's behind this?

Mine was delivered 27/4 in Belgium. And My pcm doesn’t have those issues (yet)

In NL the license plate is specific for each car. Probably they won’t issue the plate if the car is not 100% in order

The dealer means they will not register the car and deliver it until the PCM fix from Porsche arrives. Not that there is a software issue with the license plate!

I heard about a batch of 911’s at my local dealer with the same issue, all awaiting a patch that Porsche apparently haven’t built yet!

Placed the order in January, build completed in April 22nd and the car is already at the showroom (Porsche Amsterdam) and the request is apparently to not register the car (request the license plates) and postpone delivery until this is fixed.

Oh wow!
means you are able to see your car, but not allowed to take it and drive.

I would have slept near it :(

Since last sunday I cannot login to my account. I can only register in my car as a guest! My dealer mentioned a problem with the server. There is a connect problem. They try to solve it ASAP. But until now I am a stranger to my car.
It seems that Porsche is not capable of solving all these PCM problems. Also it seems impossible to decent OTA updates!

Tell them that you don’t give a f**k if login is not possible…thst you want to drive a car!

Just got the Taycan activation email and a call from my dealer saying this might be fixed before the week of June 6th. Seems like the "systems are back online" :D

Also read from other forums the Taycan deliveries are being resumed...

This is the note attached to my stop delivery, GTS produced 4/22, currently on vessel to US west coast:

In the affected vehicles, the vehicle user's personalized login to the PCM is not possible due to a software error. Consequently, a customer Connect account cannot be activated at time of delivery and PCM personalized services and remote access are not available.

To address this, the gateway control unit must be programmed before delivery or the control unit must be programmed over-the-air with an updated data status, depending on the type of vehicle.
1,666 vehicles are impacted.

To me, it sounds like they just have to reprogram the gateway control unit before delivery. Why does it take that long?

Any update on this issue? My car is arriving Bencia today and will be transported to the dealership. I hope it’s resolved already.
