Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I opened by boot the other day and noticed a slight smell. After checking around the boot I put my hand into the left side compartment and noticed it was all wet. Nothing has been kept in there and last few days it's not rained but in the mornings there is quite a bit of condensation on the car. I'll be notifying my local centre but in the mean time was wondering if I should try and diagnose it by putting a hose over the area.

Maybe rear camera washer hose is leaking?
I didnt option rear camera. Only washer/wiper is at the front. Maybe it's coming in from the indicator house a failed seal. I might just put that hose on it lol. It's going into the centre for an unrelated issue I'll get them to look at this. Just weird

@mangobay reported that there's a service bulletin for drainage problems with excess rainwater:
If you also have condensation inside the car, it may be this issue:
Another service bulletin concerning water ingress:

Hello. Did you find out what the problem was in the end? My car has got the same issue with the left boot pocket. Its collected a lot of water over the weekend with the rain (see pic) . If you could let me know it would be much appreciated ??

Hi Chris

Porsche said it was a seal that was broken somewhere in the back bumper and the water was travelling down into the left compartment. They said they just resealed it. Of course still being under warranty ot was sorted

Thanks for the quick response! My car went in the other week for ‘water tests’ but they couldn’t find a problem hopefully this info will help them sort the problem out when the car goes back to them.

No worries. Hope it gets sorted for you. If you like you could ask them to contact Porsche Stockport and ask them what they did to my vehicle. If you personal message me I'll give you my number plate

My Taycan CT4 has the dreaded water ingress issue - first noticed it a month ago when opening and closing the rear tailgate. You could hear water rushing from top to bottom and bottom to top when operating the tailgate.

Got it into Porsche and they investigated and resealed the tailgate/dried out the internals. I was taking the car to the Porsche Experience in Silverstone for my complementary track 1/2 day so I was anxious to get the car back for the trip.
Stayed in Oxford overnight for the Experience the next day as I had travelled 450 miles from Scotland. The morning of the experience the exact same noise reappeared - sloshing noise when boot opened/closed. Not happy as I worried about the electrics etc and what the water was doing the electrical components. Also the rear boot lid has acoustic lining which at this stage was saturated. No water inside the car ie footwells etc.

So after returning to Scotland I booked the car back in again - that was 3 weeks ago. It has since been diagnosed with two separate issues - tailgate ingress being one but another on the main structure of the car - basically rainwater is making its way in thru the roof rail mounts.

So I will await the final report from the specialist body shop on the issue and what they have done to repair the water ingress.

Has anyone else have this issue? I only picked the car up in December’22 and it has by now 1,600 miles.
