did that, still received random directions
Odd.

Try disabling the Porsche Connect service Smart Location within the PCM and if you still get random routes then something else is awry.

I own 3 EV's...the TTS, Mach E Mustang and a 2016 BMW i3. My previous car was a plaid before the TTS.

The TTS system is def a bit laggy and slow...it takes time for anything to happen, even a simple task like connecting to my carplay etc. My car is currently in the shop getting the ANA6 done along with a few others, so I will see how that helps. But it is def a sad day when a 50k Mach E has a much better infotainment system than a 216k porsche!

so disconnecting things is the path to getting the car to work properly?
maybe the whole pmc should be shut down and we'd have far less issues from the software

Disable is not disconnecting.

For troubleshooting purposes.

If the random pop-up routes stop then it should be enough to clear out the saved routes, leave Smart Routes unticked in the PCM and then finally re-enable the Porsche Connect service should you want to use Smart Routes in the future.

I cleared everything from the nav, I am still receiving the smart route and now I am getting pop ups for apple pod casts, a feature that I've never used.
Wonky is the car's middle name

There are a couple of things here and are unrelated.

1. Smart Routes - have you disabled the Porsche Connect service "Smart Route" - it is not accessible from the NAV menu so I'm guessing you
haven't. You will find it in Settings menu under Privacy and Porsche Connect Settings. Then go to Overview of all Porsche Connect Services and scroll through the long list, locate Smart Routes and disable.

2. Since uPdate various notifications appear on all sorts of topics. Disable notifications if you don't want any. There are different types but you may not be able to filter out specific ones

All I could get from that article is the corporate tussle between porsche vs vw. Regardless who builds software for fist generation product lines, all will have some elements of issues and delays.

Be that vw or porsche, both source parts from vendors which played and playing a significant role is sw development cycle. Some may remember when porsche backed out from all OTA updates from their original statement, suppliers' different versions were mentioned as a reason. It took them 'sometime' realize the practical difficulties . Where as tesla manufactures most of it critical parts and have a control of those products lifecycle.

To me its sounds like porsche is using Taycan success and the 'delay' in WV sw development to take control of it. Which can be a good thing but I won't bet on such to results in zero issues or no delays in new model launches.

I didn't note notifications I mentioned random smart routing and a random apple podcast notification. both of those aren't software update notifications. I appreciate your efforts to assist me but maybe I am not making my issues clear.
