There is a quite a noticeable 'crunching' sound from the rear of our new Taycan GTS ST when turning on to a steep drive off the road.

I don't think this is to do with Ackerman effect as I understood that only impacted front tyres.

Our car does have RWS with PSP.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or can shed light on what this could be?

Could this not just be your rear bumper bottoming out on the road? I’d be checking under the car for scuff marks

If you have the rear wheel steering option, I'd suppose the Ackerman effect might be possible?

Definitely not anything scraping on the road, sounds like something else altogether. Only happens when turning into a steep surface from a flat road.

I'll see how it goes and maybe get dealer to take a look, if it persists.

Just wondered if anyone else had come across something similar...

Mine is doing some type of banging noises. I also have RWS but the noise is pretty scary. I went to Porsche and they said this is normal. I have an appointment in a month and I will test drive the car with them.
Actually thé noise is super noticeable when the suspension is in lift position as I get out on my garage.
The Ackerman effect on my previous S5 was a bit more smooth but it came from the front. On the Porsche it appear to come from the rear but though to said as I can feel some vibration in the steering wheel.

Nothing to do with Ackerman - this relates to wheel skittering / slipping when turning at very low speeds.

Sounds like you are bottoming out the rear undertray of the car.

Simply set Smart Lift for this location just as you approach the incline and save it. Next time you approach, approach slowly to allow the NAV to catch up and auto raise the car.
