long wait for production allocation - 4S ST - europe

I paid deposit on 4SST end March 22 and was given an allocation to confirm my build in July 22, delivery mid November 2022.

My local dealer in the US quoted a year from order to an allocation, AND a sizable deposit on the day I order. Luckily I got a recommendation to another dealer and got an allocation in ~2 months.

depends on the model, mine was not recent but can give you an idea, checked with my dealership in Jan 2022 - ZERO production slots across all models at that time, could only purchase stock - not an option for me as I wanted to order a GTS with PTS. in May 2022 after the MY23 configurator was refreshed, limited production slots but no PTS slots, finally in August 2022, if I remember correctly there was 1 GTS PTS slot, I took it and finalized the order with downpayment in September, the production is (pre)scheduled now in the first week of June 2023 as it slipped from March to April, now to June.

Also the coming production slot will be MY24 only according to my dealership, the base price has been increased for MY24 since end-March, and the option update will be available in 2-3 weeks maybe shorter from now.

A few weeks ago when Mamba Green was removed from the configurator, I checked in with my dealer and he assured me my car is fine as MY24 doesn't start production until July. He also assured me I would not be paying for any price rises, even if it gets delayed and switched to a MY24.

Correct, my dealer also confirmed the finalized order/price will be honored as is regardless of further delay. the order was locked on 8th March. I am going to Stuttgart next week and have a Taycan factory tour schedule and i will definitely check with them about the status of my order, and my dealer has provided the communication number they used at the factory.

So the incremental is basically applied to those who didn't yet have a production slot secured despite the order being placed as I understand.

US allocations situation has gotten better now (as compared to a year or two ago), especially if you're willing to expand you search nationwide. Still depends on the trim though. My personal experience was 20 months first deposit order to delivery, with well over a year waiting for an allocation, which I never got from the dealers I was on the waitlists with, found my own allocation on the opposite side of the continent.
