I don't think "unlocking" it with establish drive readiness. I did hear rumours that briefly activating "pre-cooling/heating" will though... it's a matter of trying I suppose.
I think the HV battery tops up the 12v battery a certain number of times while the car is inactive and then stops doing it. So waking the car up, resets this countdown as it were. I believe the 12v being topped up by the HV during sleep was one of the features of the big software update.
Been discussed on here in past by people who know more about it than me!

Correct and that document mentioned it would recharge the LiFePO4 12V battery up to 8 times between state 15 (Readiness to drive) (or some other state. Can't remember accurately now). I do remember someone mentioning that activating pre-cool seemed to enable readiness to drive so that was something to explore in the future. Will it reset and restart the 8x cycle?

I also read about that. Which is better than not using the HV battery to charge the 12 V battery. But why there is such a counter at all is beyond me. The car should handle everything that is needed automatically as long as there is a reasonable amount of energy in the HV battery. We should demand that of Porsche in a new update.

I would get a noco booster juuuuust in case...
I have since gone and purchased a NOCO Boost XL 12V 1500A Jump starter. It is not exactly the one you referenced and am wondering will it suffice in the event of me needing it. What do you think?

Should be more than enough. Technically we only need to give some energy to unlock the frunk and then to close the relay on the lifepo4. We don't actually have to provide lots of current like on an ice car.

Thanks @tchavei . You mention a battery connect point in the footwell for the NOCO?

Yeah. There are several pics on this forum. There's a red metal block with a car symbol you pull a bit out (positive) and use the car's interior door hinge for negative/ground. Once powered, that should allow you to unlock the frunk with the key fob

Hi all,
I am posting for the first time to see if anyone has some advice for me. Advice abounds on the forum and I have learned much here since my new car delivery in February. I concur with many regarding some of the cars quirks / design features but overall nothing really takes from the car's build quality or comfort. I had no say in the build of the car and can now appreciate how lucky I was to skip the queue so to speak for delivery. It is my first EV but my second Porsche. I drove a 1979 911 SC Targa for over two years and was overwhelmed by the admiration the car got everywhere I went. It had undergone a wonderful restoration so it looked and drove to impress ! Now I have gone full circle and embraced the latest technology out of Stuttgart.
So my question is how to approach parking the car in my driveway for eight weeks ? I have purchased a cover for the car which I intend to use but wonder if there are things I should consider. Battery charge for example I suppose is the main question.

As an aside on the day you posted this picture, June 1, my CT was parked at Lord Brandon’s cottage, just out of shot, ,and I was strolling around those lakes. Turned out I had parked in the Jarvey’s cart oark ?

Passenger footwell ?
Driver side for left hand vehicles.

Video: Opening frunk if 12v battery dead:

Edited: Details: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...it-dies-because-of-the-12-volt-problem….2529/

Note possible need to manually unlock the car with key.
You need to manually open the door, yes. What always threw me off with that guy is that the guy hooks up like 3 nocos to open the frunk which doesn't make sense at all. A normal 12v battery should be enough to open the frunk. It should be a piece of cake for a small booster. I'm not sure if it's the same video but there's one that shows him connecting 3 noccos in parallel like wtf man ?

This is the original video where he uses multiple noccos. Maybe they were bad units?

Have you seen this advice that came out last year? I had my car go dead after parking at the airport for 7 weeks last year at Christmas. I did not have possibility to connect a trickle charger like the CETEK LiPo trickle charger. The main battery only lost a few percentage of charge, but the 12 volt battery disconnected and needed the use of a booster. No fun late in the evening returning. The security guard was also very interested in what I was up to. All good in the end though!

That document is strange... our 12V LifePO4 batteries are 40A right?... how can they say to charge it at 80A for at least 65 min?!?
