I am just unlucky, or is this a common theme?

... unfortunately, every time I've look over to the other driver hoping that the person would look back, the other person always just looked forward and refused to look at me.
That's 'cos they're thinking "mustn't make eye contact with that kawazydude".
To be fair, I worry that there's a fine line to tread between enthusiastically attempting to share the joy of Taycan ownership, and looking like one has special needs.

Very true, which is why I usually just look over briefly to see if I get an acknowledgement, and if I don't, then just proceed as if nothing happened. But given this thread, I think I will now enthusiastically wave with smile like a special needs person whenever I see another Taycan and see the response I get.

To put matters into perspective - in certain Greater London they are definitely not rare any longer. In particular in Mayfair and SW1 I sometime see multiple ones parked on the same street. So camaraderie between owners is pretty much non-existent:)

Once you leave UK and head out to continental Europe (excluding larger German cities like Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, that is) Taycans are still far and few in between and definitely get more attention.

If you drive in the Scandinavian countries, Netherlands and Belgium and probably others too you will see a lot of them. Tax regulations made non EV cars really expensive.

So many in SW1, with very low cost parking in Westminster and no daily congestion charge... they are like a Belgravia people's car! Not quite replacing the Chelsea tractor yet (Range Rover).

I nod and wave at other Porsche owners. Most of the Cayannes/Macans are mom's and don't really respond. The few 911/Cayman/Boxter I see I wave at as well, but not really any responses.

makes sense - in France and Spain I hardly saw a single one during an extended road trip last summer. The ones I did see had Norwegian or German plates but as you say EV tax incentives in Benelux at least used to be quite beneficial.

yepp, pretty much free 4h parking (if you can find a spot!). The rest of the London councils should do the same, but not holding my breath.

It's not a novelty if you live round the corner of a Porsche dealer. I would also state the vast majority of Porsches (all flavours) rumbling around I see are driven by old blokes with grey hair who most likely have the golf clubs on the back seat on their Mercs. No wave for them.

:CWL: Absolutely brilliant!
Personally, I seem to subconsciously deactivate my default "Northern Mode" in the more densely populated areas regardless of my current latitudinal location. Aside from that, advancing age seems to me to be a fair indicator of openness to interaction, and- of course- having a dog (in fact, I confess that I usually say hello to dogs before I acknowledge their owners).
But, when in a car, I'm more likely to show my interest in something eccentric or ancient, than anything else.

I suppose I do too in big cities but even though I moved south for work when I was 25 I still “Good Morning” everybody I see in the morning on my walk to the market or with my dog :)

First time in 2 years....!

I saw a female in an Ice Grey CT or ST just round the corner from my house earlier this week. Possibly doing the school run?

This morning I saw her at exactly the came place / time coming towards me. I pulled over to let her past, as its a narrow country Lane.

And got a nice big wave and a smile as she passed! ?
