After a year long wait since putting down my deposit - the day finally where the car arrived at the dealership.

I got a sneak peak.......and it's beautiful! Except - the car is obviously flat white instead of the Carrara White Metallic that I ordered. I realize CWM was being discontinued at some point this year, and painfully looks like I did not make the cut. Flat white is too white/stark which is why I went with the metallic.

At this point, unsure what I can do or what I am expecting. It's just disappointing that no one notified me that the change had been made. I did notice the color on MyPorche website. You couldn't tell from the pictures, but when I went to find the production images, in the developer tools, the config showed "white". Asked my sales rep about this and they verbally confirmed it matched spec.

Ideas on what other folks would do?

Wait until you see it in person. If isn't Carrara White, you should get at least the price difference (not sure about the USA, but here in the UK it was a paid paint option on the GTS). I would also try and negotiate some kind of compromise (if you do want to keep the car), maybe look at CWM-like wrap and if they'll cover the cost?

I would order the Ice Grey Metallic. When my husband took me to the dealership, I test drove a white Taycan and enjoyed how it drove, but I wasn't particularly thrilled with its appearance. However, when I walked into the showroom and saw the car in Ice Grey with the Mission wheels, I fell in love. Perhaps this happened for a reason. I'm hoping that the facelift will be revealed at the LA Auto Show tomorrow, so I've decided to postpone my order. I don't want to end up with a new car that looks dated.

There is 0 chance the facelifted Taycan will be unveiled at the LA motor show but the 3rd gen Panamera will on November 24.

And there is 0% chance the current model will look “dated”…it will still look nothing short of stunning. From what I’ve seen, the facelift ain’t all that..

Congrats on a new car! stormtrooper look for the win.
1 - Get a discount and a "sorry" gift from the dealer;
2 - Use the price difference to get a set of MIssion Es with a white rim;
3 - Make the city jealous :)

I personally would reject it. I had the same exact opinion with flat white. It’s too white!
Couldn’t stand looking at the car every day knowing it’s not the colour I had picked.

Not sure if it's the same for all regions and dealerships, but I had to sign a copy of my final order spec before production locked- if you have an equivalent and it doesn't match your delivered vehicle then I think you have a good case for compensation.

Interesting. Same thing happened with my wife’s Electric Mini. Ordered a silver and black colour, again about to be discontinued but ordered in time. When arrived, guess what? Black! How can they make a black one when you pay extra for black mirrors, roof etc?
I remember talking to my Porsche rep’ about this and he said “I expect Black is their default colour when there is an issue. At Porsche it’s standard White!”

It may be a happy mistake in your favor. Assuming you are going to wrap in PPF I recommend getting the clear magic PPF from UPPF. It will take your white into a pearl metallic that you may like better anyway. …and your car paint in protected. There are three different metallic infusions into the clear. There are of course other wrap options but just an FYI on this one. Here is the link. https://www.uppf.com/en-magic-gold.html. Search the site for the clear series.

White with mission E wheels is the better choice. Stunning with ceramic coat.

Lucky you! White looks better!
IMO Flat white does not look better. The metallic looks more luxurious and has way more depth to it. I had the option to spec my GTS and am very happy I went with the metallic. In fact I was originally gonna go with chalk but I think it looks dirty on the Taycan design. My buddy has a 911 Turbo S in chalk and it looks amazing. Body specific IMO.

If you don't like the flat white I would definitely get them to pay for a full wrap or spec a new car. It just really sucks you have already waited a year. I would be very upset that no one told you that they were changing the color of your car. I get that it is white to white but IMO it is no different than them changing it to mamba green. They should have notified you.
