still have no answer as to 'stamina' - can I run this thing "flat out" until battery exhaustion - or will it lower power after about 6-8 laps @ laguna seca like my 2020 Taycan Turbo - unless it can do more than about 12-15 min of full performance it's quick no doubt but still not a track car…not that it would be a track car with it's weight - but have they upgraded the cooling to keep the battery inline…

1:27.xx @ Laguna Seca (my local track) is quick no-doubt - about 8 sec's faster than a 991.2 gen GT3 on street tire…and put's it in the same league as 991.2 Cupcars on slicks - 1.28.xx would've put you on pole position in Porsche series racing in 2016/2017 @ Laguna Seca - so it's proper quick…

kudos to Porsche for "doing their thing" - GT and all - but I won't be a victim of this particular product - but it will all become part of Porsche legacy/history and there won't be a lot of these made - not quite a collectable but close…

This is a halo product from a company that prides itself on it's long history of racing achievement. It's no surpise they've released it and I'm honestly very surprised anyone is shocked at what it is

Looks like Active Ride isn’t available on this model, which is interesting considering the consensus was that it did have it judging by the lack of body roll on the test model we saw a couple of months ago. Guess it just has a tighter suspension; and it makes sense weight wise to not have AR.

Personally the weight makes it impractical for a proper track tool imo. But as a car you can drive every day and occasionally take to a track if you want: pretty cool.

for me it doesn't make sense to have regen if it's weissach equipped, also there is an additional PASM knob with a center button, what does it do beside you could adjust the suspension? the attach mode is to be activated from the drive mode knob, it's confusing

edit: the smart lift function is now simplified at the touch of a button on the PASM knob.

There has to be at least some level of confusion. They can’t just release a perfect product; there always has to be some issue that makes it fall just short.

We see this across the board from consumer electronics to cars.

Look at Porsches new base products. They are a joke in price/performance/spec ratio.

Sounds like you missed the news on the Macan EV? It's true that Porsche are dragging the Taycan upmarket, but that's to create room for the lower models. A full-spec Macan EV turbo would spank a base Taycan anywhere at any time, and cost less or about the same. That's, IMO, "delivering more" (and not the kind that is "less").

Eventually they’re going to have to put some kind of medical disclaimer on these cars as they get more and more powerful. At some point there will be a cardiac risk lol

Even my Turbo, today demoted to being the middle of the Taycan range, can induce a sensation in me that discourages launching it. Heavy vehicles accelerating from a standing start at warp speed while potentially impairing a driver's concentration...what could possibly go wrong?
