I only get to change one thing? Has someone already mentioned physical HVAC controls (you know, like the Audi version already has)?
In fact is was the FIRST thing suggested, by me. :like:

Just one thing, the center console.
I can overlook everything else.
Yep, gotta agree on that one. The center console - door doesn't stay open, wireless charger is downright dumb - needs a re-do.

If I could only have ONE THING: a max regen/one-pedal-driving mode (like the BMW iX's "B" mode).
Coming from a Model S, it took me a solid month+ to get over the stronger regen. The default "coast" mode in the Taycan still feels downright unnatural compared to the very mild regen using the steering wheel button. Wish I could make that the default in Normal mode. Anyway, the brake blending done in the Taycan is very good, such that I don't miss one pedal driving as much as I did at first.

I hear that. I had two BMW i3's (sequential leases) before getting a Model S P90D, and I missed the comes-to-a-complete-stop-from-regen that the i3 had (and iX in "B" mode now has) in the MS. I've gotten used to having the use the brake pedal in the Taycan, and like you said, the blending is done very well indeed, but if I had just ONE request... I'd want a lazy foot mode haha.

Have you tried auto regen? Haven’t driven a BMW but from your description sounds very similar and auto regen will bring the taycan to a near complete stop.

Yeah, I've tried it, but in my experience the normal regen (button on steering wheel) seems to slow the car down more when off-throttle than auto regen ever did for me - and neither gets the car anywhere close to a stop. This is on a US car, mind you - settings/configuration could be different in the UK.

I know from my racing experience that coast is the most efficient way of saving energy, I had never had it on a car before and I was used to the lift-off in an IC engined car simulation in the regen button, or my plug in hybrid mode so it felt odd at first.
Knowing it is more efficient I persisted in getting used to coasting and now I prefer it to the other settings.

I am not a fan of 1-pedal driving, I have it on my lawnmower and have got used to it but still don't like it. I realise it is simpler and cheaper than blending regenerative and friction braking using the brake pedal but I much prefer the Porsche solution.

It’s of course not about right or wrong, it’s just personal preference. Which imho they easily could have configured with 3 options: no regen, low regen, high regen. Everybody happy.

For all of you who don't like the electronic vent system I disagree.

My wife is terrible - constantly playing with vents, moving them round and turning them off etc. In the Taycan she cant and soon gives up.

Priceless.

Haha - related: my mobile detailer (who's WONDERFUL) seemingly bumps the manual air vents in my BMW iX during cleaning/dusting (understandable), so I occasionally need to rejigger the aim to get them back to how I like 'em. Doesn't happen with the Taycan! So that's one plus for the electronically-controlled air vent directionality. Another (possible) plus: air vents adjusting electronically for different driver profiles, just like seats and sideview mirrors. (I just thought of this and haven't checked to see if it actually happens, but 'twould be nice.)

Porsche has been pretty adamant on their implementation, doubling down on it being the more efficient way as well as being able to maximize regen with a two pedal system. I highly doubt they will deviate from this just to please the one pedal crowd.

When it comes to sporty driving, one pedal is the wrong way. It's much more difficult for the average driver to keep the car balanced i.e braking point, turn in, apex and exit.

A better backup camera…
The current 180 camera drives me nuts!
I couldn't agree more.
Every single day when I back out of my driveway in the morning I am reminded the backup camera is completely useless and any other car (at a fraction of the price) has a superior solution. Put me on list whenever there is a third party upgrade available !
On the bright side, it also means I am still being trained to use the mirrors which has always worked well. I wish I could have deleted this backup camera from the configuration :)

But adding one pedal driving as a third option would not impact the current two options right? So why would they not do it, there is no downside.

I hate one pedal drive myself btw, just don’t understand why they don’t give the possibility for those who want it.

My Polestar does have the three modes.
