The battery linked in the previous post is listed at $26,892.58 as a NEW 93KWH battery from a Porsche dealer. What is the reason for the almost double cost showing in your quote? Is it the full MSRP vs. the other one is dealer selling it with less than full profit? I get that Porsche dealers markup is often 100%, but in case of such high priced item, shopping around could save you a ton of money.
I did send that link over to them - here is a cut and paste of their response:
Thanks for sending that over. That is not the correct battery for your Taycan.

As it stands for sourcing the battery, any repair facility has to submit a release request directly to Porsche for them to release any high voltage battery.
The Porsche parts system doesn't show any availability as all request for a battery or any related parts need to be specially approved for release.

Just had a call from the dealership - the disconnect in the price is that the insurance listed a remodeled battery, which are not available (I get why they would do this)

weekend coming up. Time to pull back and consider alternatives. Your dealer obviously wants the business. There may be others who want it more. I prescribe an adult beverage (or two) and some time off to think it through.

Also, I assume "core" price is subtracted, so your cost even at their prices would be ~$41K for the new battery if you let them keep the old one. The rest of the items don't add up anywhere near $27K, how much labor did they quote for a simple battery swap?

I think he just sent a screenshot as there are more parts I assume - labor for that is 25 hours which comes in at $8k

They played the 'your battery warranty will be gone if you go elsewhere' card earlier when I mentioned weighing up my options

A search for the primary part number (without the last 2 letters) on the same site that @WasserGKuehlt linked shows a wide price range ($26K-$50K). Is there is a special 2021 model year battery that cost 2x of another Taycan battery of same capacity? Or is Porsche scaling prices based on a trim to match car MSRP, so a battery for Taycan Turbo S costs 2x of the very same battery in a Taycan RWD?!?

The $27K battery @WasserGKuehlt found is labeled for a 2021 Taycan, new, and 93KWh. What could possibly make the battery of the same capacity cost 2x? Is Porsche using premium tier pouches for Turbo S and marginal pouches for RWD because it is not going to draw the same current? Is the cooling system using platinum channels for Turbo S?

I would fact check that claim of "not the correct battery". Give a call to the Porsche center in that link, give them your VIN, and request parts pricing for the battery replacement. If they give you the same information as your dealer, then you know there is validity.

They couldn't just give you a complete estimate PDF? If you're going to talk to your insurance, they should provide a complete estimate.

As mentioned earlier, that is a fact, they reported the dent to PCNA, your battery warranty is gone. It doesn't mean another dealer could not provide you with a less expensive battery swap (and new battery should come with new warranty).

Perhaps you don't even need to take your car to a new dealer, just call around ask for a complete battery replacement quote for your specific car. New battery should come with new warranty btw.

It's odd as the link does state Turbo S Sedan - will give them a call tomorrow

This is what I'm going to do - at the end of the day if i hadn't have taken it in for the recall work then I would be none the wiser - I had no errors and/or lights on the dash and battery temps were normal - to your point I think they're massively inflating the level of effort here.
I'll do some research into independent EV places this weekend but will tell Porsche to get my car back together
You might call Porsche Minneapolis , it’s a drive but they have always been great to me.

Also when I made a mistake and tried to bounce my front end off 2 fuel reservoir man holes and raised concrete “ Napleton Westmont Porsche” inspected it and gave me a fair estimate. Half of what Porsche Omaha ripped off State Farm for.

I'll call them and see what they have to say, shouldn't need an inspection given all the pictures etc. I have

Just called them - they quoted me $37,982.23 with the part number 9J1-915-100-bg the only difference is my dealer used EU as the last 2 letters which is the exchange that apprently they can't get anyway which was $49,087.72
My goodness, this is exhausting
