Ah I see. Valid point. All the more reason why Porsche should implement some sort of sensor/camera that checks the road ahead and auto adjusts the suspension…

Added together, it's a potential problem Porsche needs to sort out one way or another.
Personally, I think the insurers may move first, they will be very quick to adjust premiums if data shows sharp losses.

Oh yes. It took Land Rover about 2 years to react to insurers putting premiums up 2x, 3x, 4x, etc due to software issues making theft easy. And it will take insurers quite a few years to start normalising them.

I couldn't agree more. I experienced this once on a trip once, after a fun spirited coastal drive I pulled over for some electrons and a bio-break. Walking back to the car I realized I forgot to switch the driving mode, as my car was in Low suspension mode, something I am not used to seeing from the outside. I remember thinking "phew! I'm so glad there were no speed bumps on the way to the charger!" - at that time I didn't even know a 3.01mm dent could cost $72.5K, still did not want to bottom out my car. Since they I religiously put my car back to Sport whenever exiting highways.

I worded it badly. What I meant is tap helped with paying the final amounts. Years ago when I just used cash and with European instincts I was constantly getting caught out. See toothpaste for $1.99 on the shelf – go the the cashier with my two dollar notes and get surprised when the total was $2.38 and I was left scrambling for more bills.

Tap probably makes actual bill gouging worse. Sure just tap, whats the problem ?

Just FYI, you can be asked for a tip amount AFTER you tap, which means the amount that shows up in your Apple Wallet for example will show the pre-tip amount, but later (as much as a day later) it will show an adjustment to include the tip added after the tap - no second tap necessary for the tip.

Wow that seems really bad! What stops someone (waiter!) selecting a large tip on your behalf after you’ve tapped. Surely that’s just opening the door for fraud. Can’t see that ever happening in the UK. Transaction amount is confirmed on screen before you tap. Value can’t be changed after.

I always thought so too. Inflated tip never happened to me AFAIK, but it did happen to a friend after he paid for dinner we had together. After contacting the restaurant they reverted the tip charge, claimed it was an error, but I guess we'll never know.

I was very frustrated with WoodHouse in omaha for taking so long that it affected my loaner .. was a real pain. Sorry,

I wish we could take the underbody plate and run some tests to see what kind of impact it would take to cause this sort of dent. We can then comp that to the new J1.2 plate and see if that’s any better. I’m sure some mechanical/materials engineers here can come up with a better aftermarket design!

Thats a great suggestion! How about the OP just asks for the damaged parts to be given to him as a “souvenir” so we can do some tests hehe
