Hogwash!

A full day is safe (assuming all other campaign / recall work has been performed). The work is in several parts - hose replacement, brake flush, reprogramming of PSM etc.

Mine took 1.5 days (08:00 start) as they also were insistent on replacing the heater (already performed before delivery) so I went with it.
Turns out I got it back after 30 minutes. Hadn’t checked their parts bin. Ffs.

Porsche Colchester just completed mine. Top notch service (even received a gift and goody bag, which was a great touch).

Heater done at the same time.

Brakes feel much more consistent/trustworthy. No issues as yet with them fading out as I come to a stop at a junction, so hopefully all fully resolved. Will see how it goes.

After having the recall done, I’ve spotted this on my rear caliper:

Porsche Taycan RECALL : UK ONLY THREAD: Brake Hose Pipes (ARB0) - 21,466 cars will be recalled. IMG_1168

(this was just after giving it a light blast with a jet wash). Hope it’s just spillage from when they bled the brakes.

So I had my 4SCT brake hose recall completed today.

Before: solid pedal feel with little travel when on regen braking, but then fade out and needed to push harder when transitioning to steel brakes only.

After: no braking action at all for a good 1" or more of travel when on regen braking, then it starts to brake but you have to push loads. When at a crawl and it is on steel brakes only, solid feel and bite.

It's like the issue has flipped.

Has anyone had this? I've read the system made need a reset on the regen braking side??

Also, dash cam is plugged into arm rest cigarette socket. Before: power to this goes off after car turned off.

After: power stays on all the time after car turned off. I now need to physically unplug it to save the 12v battery draining...which is a right pain.

Any ideas Why would this change?

I thought it would stay on for 30 minutes, then shut off?

No idea on the power socket. Don't really use mine.

On the brakes, your "after" sounds like my before, only I had little to no feel/stopping when nearing a halt.

My pedal has a small amount of take up, possibly a cm or so with very modest retardation, but it then gains power progressively all the way through.

Importantly mine has yet to make me feel like it won't stop at a junction.

I've tried a couple of heavy stops as a test and it seems to work nicely (I'm generally not that heavy on brakes). The pedal is not "solid", but I can feel what it's doing and, thus far, have confidence in it.

Seems like you have a trip back to the dealer beckoning.

Take it back. This is not the experience I or many others have had. Braking (any weight) kicks in immediately even from cold.

It used to stay on for 30 mins then power down as the power to the socket would switch off. After the brake hose recall it appears the power is staying on.

Thanks. Will do. ?

Dealer suggests taking it back for a test drive by their technician but they believe all will be well. I think its software related, and perhaps the WPK0 hasn't been done. Does that sound plausible?

I think you should remove UK ONLY from the thread, at this point they are recalling all of them as it seems :( I purchased a 4S CT from Porsche Reutlingen which 50km form the Porsche factory and it "should most probably be ready" next Friday because they are waiting for hoses to replace mine. The car is used Porsche Approved with warranty. Let's see if I will have to postpone my trip to Germany. Got a recall before the car. That has to be a first :CWL:

I've just been to check mine, which had a PCM update applied while in for the brake hose replacement- the Dashcam powered by the armrest 12v outlet still powers up after the car becomes operational, I assume it still powers down around 30 mins after locking.

As an update to my experience of the recent brake hose replacement, I read on here, and I'm sorry I can't find the poster to give them the credit, but someone in the USA had the same symptoms as me and they plugged their car in to charge and afterwards the brakes on regen felt good.

Well, I tried this, plugged the car in last night and this morning - great pedal feel on both braking systems. No idea what is going on in the background...but it worked.

Issue with the cigarette lighter socket staying powered remains though.

Key part of the work is software.

This is a bizarre outcome now if charging 'fixed' the issue - I would be cautious and have it checked (as inconvenient as that may be).

The pedal does have a learning mechanism but you should have experienced the improvement on on pick up of the car.

Could it be that a power off and left idle put the car to sleep and on wake up the software stack loaded completely and that the charging piece is coincidental?
