So Porsche have told us about the big, significant improvements, and plenty have already commented on those. I wanted to mention a few smaller, more subtle changes. Good and not so good...I've only had the car for 4 days, but here is what I've noticed thus far.

Good. The "hold" pedal is a lot more sharper. The hold pedal on my 2020 was a bit spongy feeling. The new version feels a lot sharper and bites further up on depression.

Good. Internal door handle mechanism is better.

Good. Electric windows go up and down a little bit quicker than my previous car.

Good. Electric sports sound has a slightly different sound. More throaty, sounds cool.

Good. The motor that closes the wing mirrors seems to be quieter than my previous 2020 Taycan...a lot quieter.

Bad. UK/EU regulation means that lane assist is a default setting. Needs to be switched off every time you get in your car ?

Bad. UK/EU regulation means that acoustic speed warning is a default setting. This also needs to be switched off every time you get into your car. ?

Has anyone else noticed other things that improved...or went backwards.

Following the brake recall all of our 'older' Taycans are where they should be - instant braking no fading at low speed and 'Hold' a very light squeeze.

ES - uugh!! (I hate it personally)

EU - we universally never like what they do to our cars but I've had a couple of loaners which had these annoying new items (more to come)

Additional displays - charging (slider), temp / charge level etc

Not a lot else really which isn't surprising (its a Porsche)

I will mention the backwards things:

Revised Driver Assist Stock with Speed controlled by going up/down
2-tone interiors have more Black than second light tones
Turbonite cannot be completely optioned out on Turbo trims
1 year of Free DC Charging (US)
Too much Standard Equipment on upper trims limiting choice
Confusing Packages (US) vs. previously clear Premium and Tech packages

I spent some time at the dealers yeaterday and had enough time to check out the new Turbo CT. The new two-tone interiors are terrible. They look worse irl. It was a black car and the Turbonite emblem didn’t look good either.

What's the acoustic speed warning? I haven't noticed it.

You are in the US. It’s not an issue in your country. Over here, UK/EU legislation dictates that all new cars have you have an an acoustic signal that highlights when you go over a speed limit. As a default setting. Everytime you start your new car you have to manually switch it off. F**king annoying.

agree with these, would add:

Good. to change menus in the instrument cluster you just roll the wheel, no more roll then click.

Good. The new battery status / charging menu in instrument cluster.

Good. The new innodrive graphic, I like how it shows your car and accurately renders indicators, headlights and brake lights.

Bad. It seems to take longer to get cabin up to temperature from cold, I also run the internal temp about 10% higher than my previous Taycan.

Bad. I swear the frunk is smaller, although I went CT to ST.

Turbonite rhymes with sh1te and is awful IMHO.
I like tuboshite, it goes well with Volcano Grey but may clash with other colours. Looks good on a black leather interior. All subjective as any colour/style!

The Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) is an EU car safety directive, mandatory for all new vehicles from July 2024.
My car started the build process in late June 2024, but then was paused for waiting on parts for the Active Ride option. I wonder if I didn't get the Intelligent Speed Assist?
Also, can't they just disable this for US-spec cars the same way the matrix LEDs are disabled? But I suppose they are mandated to disable the LEDs.

Surely there are some PIWIS settings that can flip this stuff off permanently? Does anyone know the lines that need to be changed?

I'd happily pay somebody to tune mine off!

I can’t answer your questions. Users like @whitex, with more technical skill and arcane knowledge, might chime in and provide you with answers.

But in general, it would be a bad idea to tamper with mandatory safety features. You will be opening yourself up to a range of potential issues, including liabilities, failing periodic vehicle inspections, voiding your warranty and/or insurance, or worse, facing criminal charges in a grievous accident.
