Hi All, am currently an owner of Teslas and am looking to find a frozen berry Taycan to lease in Los Angles.

I have never leased a car before and just want to drive a Taycan for a few years before deciding on whether to purchase one or buy another Tesla. So I want to lease a Taycan for as cheap as possible, which means I guess I would be leasing models from 2020-2024?

Does anyone have any contacts from any dealerships in the LA area they liked working with and can share their name/info?

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but your lack of preparation or effort could cost you dearly. I recommend reaching out to dealerships to orient yourself.

Yes definitely am nervous since I know less than little about leasing.

When you say “reach out to dealerships to orient yourself,” how do I know the salesperson is not trying to fck me over? What questions should I ask to “orient” myself?

I have the specs of the car I want. When you say “find the car first” do you mean the literal available car on porschefinder or another database?
Yes, as you've indicated you want a 2020-24, it's a gen 1 car. It will either be pre-owned which is a random scatter of various cars across the country, or leftover 2023 2024 previously unregistered cars with large MSRP discounts and lease incentives. I have used Auto trader and Porsche Finder to great success in finding pre-owned Taycan, and I searched for 6 months and I recall only about 5 Taycans actually hit my criteria notwithstanding price.

Point being, if you're very specific about an option, such as color, you'll learn no two Porsches are built exactly the same. Unless it's a Macan or you are generally open to any options or basic options package (Premium package), generally in the Porsche world, you have to find the car, no salesperson will find you as the cars sells themselves, and they only sell their own inventory to local markes. Look at my signature, all of my cars, I had to search for them.

2024 will most likely be the most feasible for leases.

FYI I just bought a used white 2021 Taycan last week from a dealer. I wanted to lease it as these cars have depreciated so much recently that they are a great used car value. I assumed with so much depreciation having taken place that a lease would be cheap as the residual value would be quite high relative to what I would be paying (capitalized cost). Not so. Porsche is planning on a continued steep depreciation curve on these cars. My car which was $58,981, 31K miles, large battery, 107K original sticker, and was a CPO, had a residual value of just over $28,000 after a three year lease of 12,000 miles a year. That is terrible! The money factor was about 8% too. Needless to say those numbers did not work out well so I just bought it. I have to hope that such a nice car will hold it’s value better than Porsche is predicting.
Wow $30k is def not a great RV. 8% APR equivalent is a killer too. Your car will not be $30k, maybe $45k. This car is not a rock.

That said, LAis a huge market, and I believe the base Taycan is the most common model. Many dealers have at least 2-3 base Taycans in inventory. So OP's chances of finding a local car is high, just that color is rare.
