I like it. in the Uk the g580 will sell well. Pretty much free to run if bought through a company and it will pay little BIK compared to a G400d.
It could be the only way I could possibly run a G wagon.
The G400d through company brings a 1200 per month BIK ? the G580 100 per month

Maybe if you commute in the USA and have a totally different set of requirements to somebody like me if you live where I do the only parameter where the G-wagen may be superior to a Taycan is visibility!

With the exception of straight line acceleration, which is amost never of any interest in a road car, all driving parameters are a little or a lot inferior.

Thanks for posting though I would never have expected anybody to make the comparison.

A G wagon would never have come up in my dream car list, unless I would live somewhere up North and frequently being snowed in with road closures and need to go across fields etc.

As a daily driver, for my requirements, they actually have more in common then you'd think. And of course but EV, both 5-passenger, and an almost identical MSRP (if you're buying them new right now).

Best thing about car choices is they aren't for life lol. I'll let you know after a few months of ownership, but worst case, I can always change things up. I did really like the Taycan - one of the best cars I've ever owned (if not the-best).

Normal (non electric) G Wagons are mostly the preserve of the footballers wife types (or boxers & ex girlfriends ?) round where I live.
Completely impractical - but a statement.

I often see them dropping the kids at school and think about the state the planet will be in by the time the precious darlings grow up.
Hopefully Mummy will put her hand up and say 'that was partly my fault' next time they get a flood/hurricane/drought/heatwave etc.
Somehow I think not though ?

I can see how comparing the two may seem pointless to some, but to me it is very useful so thank you OP! I like to see what existing taycan owners think of other EVs as it gives me a benchmark based off a baseline that I as a Taycan owner understand. I personally am not interested in the Gwag but my wife sure is and so this is a very useful and interesting comparison.
