2. Let it idle (ignition on) for 72 hours.

Hmm.... so charge to one hundred, let it idle for 72hrs while parked somewhere safe (both against being stolen and against damage a burning EV may cause), if it catches on fire put it out and order a new, matching replacement?

I took my 2020 4s to the dealership last week for other software update recalls. I was told that there is no official remedy for ARA5 yet and the battery may need to be removed and shipped out to the midwest. Until they hear back from Porsche corp, there is no work that can be done to address this.

The "remedy instructions and TSB" for recall ARA5, dated May 8, 2024, Porsche sent to the NHTSA instructs dealers to generate vehicle analysis logs (VALs) from Taycans listed in the recall and submit them to Porsche HQ for a determination of whether the HV battery needs to be repaired/replaced or not. The VAL collection involves charging the Taycan to 100% and then idling it for 72 hours.

Per owner notification letter dated Oct 4, 2024 (see post 1), remedy for ARA5 is available at dealers.

So if you have Porsce Connect and allow the car information to be submitted to Porsche, does that mean you do not need to go in for a ARB5 recall?

If your car is included in ARB5 it is an indication Porsche suspects it will need battery module(s) replaced.

Separately, ARB6, ARB7, and WRS0 campaigns will install diagnostic software and check for any existing battery problems. The online monitoring of vehicle data is a part of ARB7 and WRS0 campaigns to watch for problems before the diagnostic software installation.

how long does Arb5 take to do with the dealership?
Essentially I have WRB0 too now, I was wondering if it would be better to wait till WRB0 is out before I give my car in to the dealer so I don’t have to go back twice…. Or am I being stupid?
Also bit confused - the OTA WRB0 campaign, if I get Porsche Connect (don’t have it currently) - can I do this later OTA?

Do you mean WRS0?
All those questions should be directed to your dealer. Schedule and work time will vary by dealer.

1) is WRS0 available in OTA or will I be sure to visit the dealership

2) is ARB5 dangerous to delay or would I be voiding my warranty for delaying it? I don’t charge beyond 80% anyway..

The diagnostic software in WRS0 will be installed by the dealer.
ARB5 is likely to require HV battery module(s) be replaced. I'd advise having that done as soon as possible. Short circuit can lead to fire.
