Is there a cargo box that would fit onto the Porsche cycle carrier tubes?

Rather than carry a roof box, I was wondering whether there is a cargo box that anyone would recommend that would bolt onto the cycle carrier tubes - would be less noise/impact on range and less likely to drop something on the glass roof...

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

There is literally nothing that fits in these tubes but the OEM carriage. A user of the forum produced custom tubes on which he mounted bike racks and then a cargo box. That's the only thing I dislike about my Taycan - why would you skip a nice towbar that we had on the Panamera that can be used for everything we want...

Thanks - as per the title, I already have the bars to use from the carrier, so looking at a box to go on top.
Your original question wasn't clear. I read it as that you did not desire to mount a cargo box on the roof, so we suggested mounting it on the rear via the NG1 carrier.

The NG1 carrier will limit your box options as the box can only be as wide as the car's width with the length also limited. Here's an example and another. You can also use the NG1 carrier and mount a tray in which then you can add bins, cargo bags, or coolers, but it's also limited in the capacity based on the tray size being also the maximum width of the car. Here's an example. Carrying cargo in the rear is the most aerodynamic solution.

If you're talking about roof mounting options, you'll have two choices. A roof box that many people use or a metal basket in which you can customize the type of bins and cargo bags you can carry. (there's also aftermarket brands that makes this basket that may be cheaper and better than Porsche's). Metal basket is the least aerodynamic solution, but gives you greatest flexibility if your cargo containers or contents are not flexible.

I suggest using a traditional roof box as it maximizes capacity and is more aerodynamic than the metal basket's contents. My view is any time you mount on the roof, you always have the risk of dropping the item on the glass. A bike is the riskiest as it's bulky, heavy and needs to slide precisely into a carrier while you have the item lifted over your head. Use a step stool and ask a 2nd person to give you a hand.

Thanks - that's very helpful. I have an old Thule rear load carrier (which I'd forgotten I had). I'll play around with that and see if I can bolt it to the NG1 carrier bars.
