Hi all, I took delivery yesterday of a lovely new (to me) 2021 Turbo. I'm looking through the software versions and its telling me I'm on the attached versions.

I'm struggling to find latest versions anywhere on the internet other than something about J1.2 which it seems is only for bloody gen2 taycans :(

can someone advise if any of these version numbers appear to be out of date? and would a OPC update stuff for free or would they want £ for doing it. I'm assuming the latter.

Thanks
Andrew

yes you are up-to-date on the PCM side. but porsche does different other updates OTA to units in the car (firmwares) without actually showing you an updated number in the software display.

oh right, so they've not updated much in like 2 years :\ that sounds.... pretty unreasonable :( i hear they do OTA stuff but its only ever really minor stuff. (says i'm up to date in the car dash, although i'm not yet able to sign into connect for some reason, not sure it needs that to be able to update)

If you bought the car from an official Porsche dealership then it will have been patched according to your VIN and software availability before delivery to you.

If you purchased a Porsche Connect subscription then you will gate PCM related updates OTA - Map, Audio, Comms etc. The campaign / recall software updates are part of the service and are free.

Yes. Version 3882 is the latest PCM version for the J1 Taycan. Unlike Tesla, where everything is packaged into one "OS" version, the Taycan has multiple separate computing bits that can have different software versions. But the PCM is the main driver-to-car interface, and the one where you'd notice a difference.

Indeed, Porsche had only one major update for the Taycan PCM, switching from a flat monotone icon scheme to the new colored icons screen in 2021 or 2022 (I don't know exactly when). Don't expect updates on any regular basis like Tesla or Rivian. The only notable OTA updates are map related. It's a driver's car, not a rolling computer, which is how I describe a Model 3. Enjoy!
