My dealer noted WRS0 needs a visit.

They have to send the diagnostics to the Mothership and can only release the car if given the green light. They don't control the time that takes and have experienced a wide window of response times.

They also noted they'd only (...) had a couple of cars that had to be held. (Didn't note what that was as a percentage, but the impression given was low).

As others have noted WRW1 is not the same update.
Mine is in for its 2 year service next week so I'll see what the hampden roar is but the letter is clear on whether a dealer recall is needed or not (currently states not) and apparently dependent on connectivity to the car (which is normally good). Moot point really given the darn thing is delayed...which is a worry of sorts (testing not gone well potentially).

Hoping that the worst cars will be moved straight to J1.2 packs. One can only hope they've got the BMS software working better by now. It's not that hard.....

On current Taycan values, it would be cheaper for them to buy you out of the car - if the problem was really that serious - rather than a vain hope of sticking J1.2 packs in.

J1.2 retrofit is already on the books according to paperwork shown here. Replacing a battery is much cheaper than rebuilding/repairing one.

Buying out is not an option - most cars still undercbattery warranty....

Don't rely on CarPlay for battery specifics.
True but until I made the update CarPlay and PCM pretty much always matched with expected SOC on arrival. Post the update they are not even close.

does anyone know how many Taycan have been sold or produced globally since it's launch in 2019?

the recall letter stated about 27,000 units were affected, if there's a global sales data since inception, maybe we can extrapolate the percentage of affected vehicles. It might put many of us more at ease. Needless to say, it feels a lot different when the situation is 5% affected vs 27% affected. Depending on how you prompt the input, Ai can spit out wildly different figures from 20,000 units all the way to 500,000 units. just don't know what to believe.

End of fiscal year 2023 they sold 136,000
In 2024 they sold an aditional 20,836

There are multiple battery recalls, affecting different years and vin ranges. Combining all recall campaigns, across the whole globe, close to all cars are affected. That doesn't mean that all cars have issues.

My car had the same behavior long before this update. I stopped using the Apple Maps integration because it sucked.

WRS0 was installed as part of my service yesterday. Clearly, the software was released in the timeframe originally stated by Porsche. Not sure why OTA hasn't been used.

because it needs to be verified and tested by Porsche since they've clearly had a non-zero number of cars having issues during/after the update ... is my logical stance on it, anyway. . saying that though people on here are saying they had wrw1 via OTA but I've not and I've been told to make a 3 hour round trip to have the privilege

I had WRW1 via OTA and it is 100% unrelated to the battery monitoring - I think we established that in another thread and I posted screenshots of the process and description of what that patch was for.

My personal preference would be to have anything to do with a critical part of the car applied at the dealership.

Each VIN may have specific nuances - perhaps down to the options fitted - and possibly there are other campaign activities needed by some and not all.

It is always a grey area for sure but I've not heard or read of a report of issues applying WRS0. It could be that as my car was in for a service and the patch was available that it was applied along with it and that had I not been in for servicing then OTA delivery may well have been the medium for deployment when made available.

@W1NGE Can you post a pic of your software version screen? There have been others who have posted a pic of the PCM version, but I don't think we've seen it from someone who had a verified dealer installation.
