I had an update yesterday. Can't recall what code it had, but it said it was a communication update. Now my Spotify doesn't work. Typical. Will see if it is back tomorrow.
My car updated (WRW1) Monday and I lost ALL audio - couldn't listen to any source. After parking up, locking and coming back a few minutes later everything has worked fine.

Thanks Neil. I will check it out in the morning. I could not use Spotify, it was showing the playlist etc. but was just not playing. I could use Android after some fiddling about and the radio worked. The WRW1 rings a bell, so it was probably that one.

Can I ask which recall and how long it was in for? I'm two weeks into the ARB5 and still not a word from them...
I had the WRS0 and WRW1 done last week according to the invoice

Does the WRV1 update increase the versioning of PCM or any module that is versioned in the car system info? Anyone knows?

And again, the WRV1 update is not the monitoring software. At best it's some preparation for that software. It is an update to the communication module of the car, that handles 3/4g connection and communication.

I am arguing with my OPC about this - they seem to have at best incomplete information.

My OTA update announced that it was battery monitoring -- but on a later screen ALSO said it was WRW1 communications module. I think it pushed two updates in one package.

What I am trying to find out is whether WRW1 fixes the problem with 12V batteries going flat (which is possible, if the communications module was the one flattening it).

I asked my OPC to find out from Porsche whether WRW1 fixed the 12V issue and got this reply which adds no value: "We have been given information by Porsche that I have already given to yourself about the campaign & how if the vehicle is jump started, that should solve the issue. All we know is the new campaign which has been completed is for the high voltage battery, and not for the 12v battery. I have no more internal information to give you, apart from I have already shared with you. "

The 12v software update (if there is one).may.be applied to the battery directly rather than the PCM and so the updates you have had applied are for other purposes. This may require a workshop visit when available.

Updates can be VIN specific and basically all your dealer can do is punch in your VIN and see what campaigns are available. Others will be OTA.

I’m wondering how many people have NOT had notification of the battery recalls (ARB5 etc).

Mine has done the WRW1 OTA, but I have not had any recall notices at all (other than the brake line recall). I have an October ‘23 MY24 GTS ST.

My dealer confirmed WRW1 is not the bigger update.

For the latter they have to ship logs to the Mothership and can't release the car until they give the OK. Which can take time.

Booked mine in for late May.

Why is it that some people have had it OTA and some have to trek all the way to a service centre to do it? Great consistency, Porsche.

Is the update even really worth bothering with or can it wait until a more pressing reason to go to a OPC? Really can't be arsed with a 3 hour round trip and hanging around a garage all day just for a minor update which really could have been done OTA.

The OTA "WRW1" (in UK at least) was for online diagnostic enhancement and the main battery monitoring component "WRS0" will come later (originally end Q1).

It is entirely possible that neither of these updates are applicable to your VIN.

It remains to be seen if WRS0 requires a trek to the dealership but the letter we received advised that that would only be necessary if the car couldn't be online.

yeah I only registered it with Porsche today and they told me over the phone that this recall was outstanding. I might just hold off until the other one is out then as I don't really want to go twice in a short period of time .

I installed the update a couple of weeks ago. Since then I’ve noticed the expected SOC at destination go haywire in maps on CarPlay. Sometimes it even shows a higher SOC at destination than I actually have part way through the journey. Today I got a pop up in CarPlay saying that battery information was not available and the SOC might be inaccurate. Anyone else seeing this? Or am I pinning the blame for this on the update when there is likely another cause?

This has always been a case. Carplay does not have access to live battery info (temperature, consumption, etc), just snapshots of battery %, based on which they make estimations.

Don't rely on CarPlay for battery specifics.

My dealer noted WRS0 needs a visit.

They have to send the diagnostics to the Mothership and can only release the car if given the green light. They don't control the time that takes and have experienced a wide window of response times.

They also noted they'd only (...) had a couple of cars that had to be held. (Didn't note what that was as a percentage, but the impression given was low).

As others have noted WRW1 is not the same update.
