Hard to pinpoint just how much, but much like art, I know it when I see it. No, wait, that's not about art but something else.

How about somewhere under $1000?
How about free? My iPhone includes all updates, the same with my MacBookPro and countless other devices I own. Shit, we spent over $100k - $200K for our Cars. The least Porsche could do is include free software updates for as long as the cars are operational and technically capable of receiving those updates.

This was Porsche’s somewhat successful attempt at making a model range out of a single car. Differences between a 4 and a turbo S are fairly minor, I’d suspect closer to 20k vs the 100k they are asking for in incremental cost. Protecting that cost hierarchy for new cars implied a very strong (I’d assume) defense against DIY locking (of models with identical hardware). Therefore selling it for cheap on the CPO market undermines their new sales.
