    Another Taycan Owner wannabe.....

From my own experience my advice is: steer well clear of a Cat-S Taycan!... 1) I had a Cat-S Panamera a few years ago: good car but turned out to have far more damage than the seller admitted to. The big problem was trying to sell it: dealers won't touch Cat-S for trade-ins, auctions aren't...

How can a car with 10k miles be creaking like this?!

I've owned several Panameras and they've all been rock solid: no squeaks, rattles, loose trim, ...; the Taycan is a completely different ball-game. Maybe Porsche should build the Taycan in Leipzig?

Headlights Fault - Warranty Wise - Porsche Silverstone

Thanks for posting your experience to the forum. This is a great example of why the Porsche warranty is worth its weight in gold: you don't get any of this back-n-forth, is it covered, whose fault, etc., etc.

    Steering Wheel leather care help

£600 (~US$800) for an as-new leather wheel on ebay; fitted it myself.

    Steering Wheel leather care help

Yes, slippy: if I grip the wheel as normal the weight of my arm drags my hand down the wheel, even when the wheel was 'new' (128 miles on the clock). I find moisture in my hands makes them stick to a leather wheel. Quite the reverse: I bought a leather wheel to replace the factory RaceTex...

    Steering Wheel leather care help

🤣 TBH my GTS was specced (not by me) with full leather, but retained the RaceTex steering wheel - which I hate: too slippery. I was going to get it re-trimmed but haven't got round to it.

    Steering Wheel leather care help

(sorry for late reply - only just seen your post) You could do what I did: replace the wheel with a leather one - my RaceTex wheel is pristine in a box!!!

Headlights Fault - Warranty Wise - Porsche Silverstone

Question: where does Warrantywise come in? - you don't have a warranty with Porsche?

    UK service & costs

I sincerely hope not - the Taycan hardly uses the mechanical brakes so the wear will be minimal. The cost, however, will not be 😲. Maybe it's an excuse to change the car before 6 years... 😉

    Changing only two tires

The front tyres have to STEER the car, too.

The fronts work harder, especially with 'spirited driving' ;)

    2026 Cayenne Coupe EV Debut!

Drives badly? Compared with the Taycan it felt like a boat! Slow, ponderous gear changes, vague steering, leaning in corners, ... To me it felt like I was kinda there for the ride, rather than actually driving.

    How to use charging timers

I guess you had Octopus controlling the car - I too found it very unreliable so reverted to have Octopus control my EVSE (MyEnergi Zappi - installed by Octopus). The benefit here is the car doesn't automatically start charging when plugged in - the charging window is controlled by Octopus so I...

    2026 Cayenne Coupe EV Debut!

Different car I know but I just had an ICE Cayenne Coupé loan car - which was horrid! - couldn't wait to get my Taycan back :like:.

    How to use charging timers

While the gurus consider a response: do you have any timing control of your EVSE (wall-box)? - smart or dumb? This affects the options you may have.

Cell phone booster, weboost, sure call, anyone tried them?

This was true in the early Taycans but seems to have been dropped around MY23.
