After four bespoke Porsche’ in the last eight years, nothing has changed. Local dealers do not know an early lock date until it is too late to change anything. Have learned to make sure of our options two weeks in advance of the estimated lock date.

That sounds about right. While I didn't get that precise explanation at the time, I distinctly remember the dealer requesting that I have the configuration nailed down two weeks prior to the lock date that had been give by Porsche at the time.

Well that’s not totally unreasonable when you look at the 3rd party logistics and parts involved in the build. If you look at some of the build videos they gather specific customer configs into carts to ensure a smoother build process and that’s all QA’d before build begins to ensure a higher degree of config accuracy and quality control prior to build/assembly. Given the production runs involved whilst long its not totally unreasonable (in my opinion).

Some fellow members asked me to create a "Ask a Taycan Dealer Anything" thread on the forum.

My name is Luke, and I am the Taycan Specialist/Sales Experience Manager at Porsche Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth area). I have been to two separate Taycan training in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Before working at Porsche I worked at Tesla (in NYC and DFW) for almost 3 years.

Would love to help anyone I can with their Taycan ownership experience! I have communication with our service team here at the dealership, and Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) to help assist with any Taycan issues as best as I can. Also if you need help ordering, or are looking for an available car I can certainly help with that as well!

Why does the passenger side mirror tilt upwards when reversing?
Surely it should tilt down to the kerb?

The mirror position when reversing probably has to be learned. I haven't found the setting for it though. In the Tesla, it was simple - with the car in reverse, you change the mirror position like you would in drive then save it to memory. That didn't work in the Taycan but maybe you need to switch back to drive then save it.

It works exactly like that for me in my Taycan...

Maybe I didn't want long enough after being in reverse to see the mirror return to normal driving position...

It is suppose to 'lower" not raise, but either way you can toggle on/off as follows.........Settings..........Vehicle................Light and Visibility.....Reversing..................Check mark on/off

Whilst you are in reverse, move it to the position you want.

Correct. While the mirror defaults to lowering in reverse you can in fact set it to go wherever you want. Set the car to reverse, adjust the passenger mirror to wherever you like, and it will save that as the default reverse setting.

It's actually a "Mirror Memory" function and not strictly "Mirror Lowering"

It happened to me first 2 times. I had to manually adjust it both the times. Since then it automatically good down. Am not sure why it didn't work straight away. This was specifically the passenger mirror.

Yes I was playing a while and it's only the passenger mirror that adjusts. I put car in reverse and adjust passenger mirror and then do a Set and 1 on door memory buttons.

Putting car back into drive or park and mirrors return in about 30sec putting car in reverse and mirror drops after a few seconds.

after you "saved" it, you can still activate or deactivate in the menus per my earlier reply
