Android Auto Taycan Uk

I’m trying to connect my phone to Android Auto in my 2021 Porsche Taycan, but I can’t find it anywhere in the menus.

The car has Apple CarPlay, but I don’t see any option for Android Auto. Does this model actually support Android Auto, or am I missing something?

I get a pop-up notification on my phone telling me to continue in the car but I can't find the option in the car

Hello,
Check if your Taycan has PCM 6.0, Android Auto only works with this version. Go to Settings > System > System Info to confirm.

Test with an USB-C data cable (not just charging) and connect via the center armrest port.

Make sure Android Auto is installed and updated on your phone.

If your phone shows a pop-up but the car doesn’t, your PCM might still be on 5.0

What PCM version you see in the system ?

MY22 onwards. An AA tile would be visible on the PCM.

I can't remember the steps exactly when I connected but I'd recommend you (a) ensure Android Auto is enabled in your phone then (b) connect the phone to the PCM as a Bluetooth device. If the stars align you should then be offered the option to start AA.

The embedded AA icon is not visible within the PCM - from memory (and the info I posted earlier from Porsche) you had to have a MY22 model before AA was embedded.

The service note just said "reinstalled software". I'll check the version I have once I get to my car and let you know.

I took my car to Porsche. They tried to restore and update everything. They confirmed it’s running the latest PCM 6, but it still doesn’t have Android Auto. They said there’s nothing they can do about it.


Does anyone know how I can retrofit Android Auto to the car?

They can fix it. They just don't know how. Tell them to contact Checkered Flag Porsche in VA Beach, VA and ask how they fixed it in my car. They should talk to Philippe in the service department.

Issue Fixed: I now have a android auto. I followed @Dresz981 advice and reached out to Checkered Flag Porsche in VA Beach. Philippe spoke with my dealer and explained how to fix the issue.

If anyone else is having the same problem and their dealer can’t sort it out,
Ask the Porsche Centre to open the Porsche diagnostic tool and run the setup through Component Protection, then select Commissioning.
