Porsche has one other ace up its sleeve in the e-fuels, which could be a winner if it works out (a big 'if').
Formula 1 will be transitioning to 100% sustainable e-fuels!

In early projections had the price of fuel jumping from the current $22-$33 dollar per litre range up to around $170-$225 per litre! What ace exactly?

Shell stopped their factory in Rotterdam for this nonsense! Any car brand, which does not transition to all fully electric will be dead! Period!

Strewth! Man, the amount of time you spent on drumming home the message that Chinese BEVs are superior to the Taycan makes one wonder where the motivation comes from? Every day, ceaseless!

Let's take your statement:

"Why would anyone pay 300k on a 4 door EV, that gets trashed in every aspect, including performance on a racing track, with better driving dynamics, by a 70k car?"
He does this, because he has a point! If you have not been car shopping in China, you don't know!

BMW plans to launch 40 models in two years using AI, claiming it now outpaces Chinese rivals with fewer people and faster tools. Wow, they open their mouth so big, without a single car of the Neue Klasse on the road, while still having wet H2 dreams. Porsche???

1. In China nobody doubts the Climate crisis. So there are no deniers and there are no campaigns, no lies, nothing like what you see daily here in the West!

2. In China there is a big drive to electrify everything, because that energy comes from inside China not the outside. That makes them independent!

As I had said earlier in the thread: " I would add that it will be very interesting to observe where Porsche will go with the Taycan and how it evolves. Porsche can not afford to stand still as the pace of development is rapid. The recent records set by it's Stuttgart brethren, the AMG GT XX @ Nardo with it's YASA axial-flux engines and overall architecture cannot be ignored." This is, I feel, a more level-headed assessment.

I would also note that "in the West", due to the current administration's policies, the following can also be observed in the largest market world-wide (and may be speaks to your point 1):

"Ford said that “F-150 Lightning assembly at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center will remain paused.” The move comes as Ford prioritizes “more profitable” gas and hybrids, which the company said use less aluminum.(…) Although it hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, the F-150 Lightning is still America’s best-selling electric pickup, outpacing the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T. Ford sold a record of over 10,000 electric pickups in Q3 for a total of 23,034 through the first nine months of 2025."

"Ford will stop making its electric vehicle (EV) flagship, the F-150 Lightning. The New York Times reports this could be attributed to both the fire and flagging sales. In the first three quarters of the year, Lightning unit sales were up only 1% to 23,034."

EV sales are not growing fast enough, and OEMs have to make tough decisions in a what is a low margin capital intensive business. So AMG GT XX, sure, but the only innovation that matters is the the innovation consumers are willing to pay for in large enough numbers.

We all know why Ford is not selling, and its orange, with more dead neurons than active, russian asset, and xenophobe.

Ford tied itself to USA, and USA tied itself to a toddler.

Porsche is not Ford ;) Why even compare them?

Chinese cars won’t come to USA any time soon, but they are well on their way to Europe.
Every other manufacturer in Europe is moving ahead with electrification.
Maybe we should compare them with these guys, eh?

In the US, the outlook for BEV manufacturers is peachy? Ford is not alone, so it seems (same reason I had mentioned earlier in this thread).

GM: "will cut U.S. electric vehicle and battery production and 1,200 factory jobs at its EV plant in Detroit along with 550 jobs at an Ohio battery plant as the automaker responds to a significant slowdown in demand for its battery cars."

https://www.reuters.com/business/wo...obs-ev-plant-detroit-news-reports-2025-10-29/

Tesla: " the company's profits dropped by 37% for the same period, partly due to extra costs linked to tariffs and research. (...) Like other car makers around the world, Tesla is facing tough competition from Chinese rivals such as BYD."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cql9yqxllqdo

Lucid: " softened its production outlook for the rest of the year as it reported second-quarter earnings that missed Wall Street expectations. (...) The company reported a net loss for the quarter of $855 million, or 28 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $790 million, or 34 cents per share, in the same period last year."

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/05/lucid-lcid-results-q2-2025.html

"Lucid Misses Q3 Delivery Target, But Output Gains Momentum. Lucid Group said Monday it built 3,891 vehicles in the third quarter and delivered 4,078, missing Wall Street's delivery expectations but showing clear production progress."

I would add that it will be very interesting to observe where Porsche will go with the Taycan and how it evolves. Porsche can not afford to stand still as the pace of development is rapid. The recent records set by it's Stuttgart brethren, the AMG GT XX @ Nardo with it's YASA axial-flux engines and overall architecture cannot be ignored.:)
In the context of axial-flux motors....a rather interesting filing by Porsche:

"According to a patent uncovered by CarBuzz and filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the company is developing a hybrid powertrain that pairs smaller, lighter axial-flux motors from supplier Yasa with a combustion engine. While the patent covers use in any passenger car, it specifically mentions applications "for a sports car.""

Also noted in the German motoring press:
