I have been tracking a sale on Cars and Bids - Trying to get a handle on what used Taycans should cost. This seems like a good deal. Love the red interior.
Thanks,

Looks like a good deal (well, depending on how high the bidding goes :) ). However... there are quite a few Taycan's for sale and all of them are a relatively good deal with the high depreciation :). As such, I would be very hesitant to buy from another state, sight unseen. IMHO, it is safer to get a Taycan directly from a local Porsche dealer with a CPO warranty (and, if you can, extend it with one or two more years). That will give a lot more peace of mind especially if you happen to be unlucky and it needs repairs. Here is the Porsche CPO inventory.

(now, having said this, I did buy myself sight unseen (from a Porsche dealer and CPO'd)... but I wanted a very specific configuration so there was not much choice. Still a bit nerve wrecking since if there is a problem there is little that can be done)

(Here is Tom's video on buying a used Taycan.)

Does that also apply to auction houses like dupont, SBX, car&bids, etc or places like autotrader, carfax, edmunds, etc?

Well…knowing all differences between (five years old) J1.1 and J1.2, i would never buy it.
If you are looking for a 2nd hand Taycan, check prices for J1.2.
Also, read discussions about obsolete software, without any possibility to upgrade.
And last, but not least: I would never buy Porsche without extended warranty.

Just my $0.02 🤷‍♂️

Since I've bought used Taycans twice and also watch auction prices, compare anything you see in an auction to the price of a similar CPO. You'd have to be crazy to pay what I see the cars go for sometimes when you could get the same configuration as a CPO sometimes for less. Use the option search feature to ensure you are comparing like options. I would never buy one without the 400V charging option, or lane keeping and ACC to make stop and go less punishing.

Bought a 2020 turbo 2 years ago with cpo+1. Spent a fair bit of time finding just the right car on Porsche’s website. Had it shipped to me. Absolutely love the car! Have had no issues with it save the usual service and recalls. Would never buy this car without cpo or extended warranty.

We tried buying a second Taycan turbo s from CarMax, black, Florida car, 10k miles. Was a great price, but showed up pretty bad. The ppf was like a 5 year old covered it in Saran Wrap. It had a radar detector professionally installed, but it made the mic unusable. Previous owner had a dog and a lot of the leather was cut. Anyway, sight unseen was a bad experience, but CarMax at least let us return it after their service department was unable to fix the mic. The car ended up at auction and now is being advertised at Steven’s Creek Porsche in California with a CPO. Been tempted to see what all Porsche did with it…

Anyway, just be careful with the sight unseen.

So Good - Thank you - The closing price was $62K - I get the the significant difference between J1 and J2, but J2 is not the market that my wallet is in - probably the wrong thread, but do CPO transfer from dealer to dealer or do I have to go to the dealer that provided the CPO? - will a porsche dealer in colorado, deal for a car in texas if they have a buyer? - I have read that model years 20, 22, 23 are best, because 19,21, 24 are launch years, is that true? - thanks jkolorado

Sorry mislabeled - Alaska and Hawaii probably have dealership - but seemed a bit out of range

One of the options listed - front axle lift - has never been an option so worth a clarification.

All Taycans with air suspension have geolocation based Smart Lifr which raises the car both front and rear.

Front axle lift is an option on 911s.

I watched this listing with interest on Cars and Bids, and almost couldn't help myself from buying it since I love my existing 2020 Turbo Taycan so much! Couldn't possibly justify a second one since my wife doesn't want to drive it. I've been incredibly happy with mine, and I think the buyer got a great deal on this car. I agree that the longer the warranty, the better, but there was some existing warranty which is better than most of these on the market. I'm sure the J1.2 is a lot better, but for the price, it's really hard to beat this one. And beautiful colors, too.

Yes. A CPO can be serviced at any dealership. It should be in the Porsche system.
