Write Off?

Had an incident with a lamppost yesterday, think it’s a write off? Windscreens broken, Roofs cracked too, mirror damaged, charging port hand gesture broken, alloy dented

i'm gonna guess very repairable. When you say screens cracked, do you mean the PCM screens in the cabin ??

What were the road conditions at the time? Are you on winter tyres?

On all season tyres, raining and quite rural where I live and no footpaths so plenty of mud and wet leaves obscuring the edge of the road.

I'd say about 10K pounds in damages, but totally fixable
Don't think they'll call it a write off.

If it will be fixed by porsche with all new parts, you're looking at that kind of prices.

Porsche won’t be fixing it, my insurance want me to use their own approved repairer 80 miles away

In the US, you're allowed to use any repair shop you like. Is that not the case in England?

You can but the insurers don’t guarantee the work if you use your own, even Porsche !

I’ve just noticed it’s scraped all down the NS doors too so will need two doors and rear bumper repairing / painting too

If you have Porsche Approved warranty on it then they can't use any odd repair shop or the Porsche Approved will be void and they won't extend it next time, as it's had work done outside of Porsche.

Weirdly it’s going to a body shop (turns out to be Porsche approved anyway) 90 miles away and not the Porsche approved jct600 one 4 miles away
