Watching the video of the Taycan Turbo GT vs the Lucid Sapphire, the pro driver explains the benefit of the Porsche’s mechanical rear differential compared to the Sapphire’s torque vectoring methodology.

Maybe this is why Porsche didn’t go with a tri-motor setup on the J1.2?

That was a really great video. It's interesting to see just how hard these cars are on the tires and brakes at these limits. Also interesting how they were gushing about Active Ride and then mentioning how it protects the driver from too much... I guess implying it could be dangerous when you hit the limit of the tire.

It really is one of the better videos showing Porsches technical prowess and racing pedigree.

People that drove the Sapphire talk about the suspension, but it can't be compared to the Taycans driving dynamics.

I can confirm PAR makes a huge difference.
It's saved me a couple of times already to keep the car balanced

Great video, pretty much everything I expected. Lucid faster on the straights, Porsche better handling, braking and overall dynamics which lead to a faster track time.

Only one of these cars looks like it belongs on a track. But if you want a total sleeper, most people will have no clue what the Lucid is.

It was between these 2 for my next car.

Lucid wanted $25k Deposit just for me to test drive the car.
The wheel and tire package in this video is another $8k so $258,000.
I hear a lot of stories of issues with Lucids, plus the companies longevity is in question.

Overall the Taycan on a a better choice in every way

Problem with Lucid, from Car and Driver:

A 4.1-mile lap in Hot Lap mode uses about 25 percent of the battery and puts enough heat into the motors and pack that the Sapphire is only good for one fast lap at a time.

Only a problem if you plan on hot lapping that car.

Outside of car reviews, I bet the number of owners using their Lucids for that kind of track duty rounds to zero.

Same with the number taking it over 200 mph.

Those things are mostly for bragging rights.

Agreed on the hot lap on the hot lapping.

RAS, PAR, steering make the Taycan a superior driver's car compared to the Sapphire.
