Xcare extended warranty

Hi gurus,

I am exploring extended warranty options for my 2023 Taycan 4S (~1.5 years of the original warranty left, current mileage at 21.5K). Below is what Xcare quoted me. I am considering the 10 year/100K miles (~$8.3K) option as I like to keep my cars around.

Curious to get your reactions.

I have also asked my dealership for a quote, still waiting. Any others I should look into?

Very expensive imho. I spec'd a 5yr/$800 deductible policy when I bought from CarMax, and it was around $2500. I view it as similar to a "catastrophic" medical policy, not something for niggling minor stuff. Although I have to say I'm pretty handy.,,, ,

I got the XCare additional 7 year/100,000 mile (beyond current age and mileage) service agreement with $500 deductible for $7,345 last year. I have no claims experience to share. Why do you prefer the small deductible? My thought process with the $500 deductible is that any claims will be rare but large.

XCare extends HV battery coverage beyond the 100,000 miles covered by the original warranty, but not beyond the eight years covered by the original warranty:

EV Battery Breakdown – Means the Breakdown of the EV Battery Pack or individual EV Battery cell(s) causing degradation to its ability to hold adequate charge. The allowable capacity before a claim will be paid is the lesser of seventy (70%) percent or the manufacturer’s capacity allowance. All other causes, except for EV Battery Breakdown due to normal usage and charging standards, are excluded. (EV Battery Coverage included only on Vehicle current plus seven (7) model years with less than one hundred thousand (100,000) miles at time of Contract purchase.) Vehicles not equipped with a Battery Thermal Management System are explicitly excluded from EV Battery Coverage.​

Coverage: You are entitled to one (1) service of any type described in this Section per seventy-two (72) hours. Services available to You (subject to the terms above) at no cost include towing, portable EV battery charge, flat tire change, fluid delivery, and lockout services.​

Thanks! Sounds like the pricing is similar then (perhaps a bit cheaper right now)
And +1 to your thinking on the deductible. I will also choose the higher one.

I have a 2021 Taycan. factory warranty unfortunately ends in September while I was out of the country and I forgot to buy the Porsche VSP. So sadly I have to buy it from a third Insurer. The Porsche plan has become too expensive. But the good thing abut the XCare is I can extend the HV battery coverage pass 100,000.
Do you know if the transmission is covered in the Battery/drive Unit Plan or is it only covered by the Premium Plan?
Why do you choose the Premium plan over the Battery and Drive Unit Plan?
I am also debating the $100 vs $500 deductible. Why did you choose the $500?
I have read that some Porsche dealer actually told clients the Porsche plan is more limited in the coverage than the XCare also. Do you know what's the extra that XCare has?

I got a quote from SOS Auto Protect for 5 years at $3945, $0 deductible and no cap. But it is known mainly as a regular car warranty insurance. I am not sure how they would cover the EV parts and labor.
XCare is $5270 for 4 years , $500 Deductible with cap on the value of the car at time of plan purchase. XCare specializes in EV and has a pretty good reputation amongst EV enthusiastes.
Which would you choose?

I have decided to go with XCare also. But trying to decide whether to go for 4 years to the end of the Porsche HV warranty of another three years beyond that. The only consideration id there is a cap on maximum aggregately out to the value of the car at time of purchase of the plan. So there is a chance not much is left after paying for repairs after 4 years.
