I have it, it works and clips on the vents. A few weeks ago I decided to put it at the rear seats vents, just to be sure I don’t scratch anything

Rear seat vents, is it the vents on the floor? Or behind the arm rest?

I’ve used a couple of those clip-style fresheners and never saw marks, but I usually angle them so they’re not clamped too tight. The scent is light, which I like. At home I got into natural aphrodisiac incense scents one winter and that pushed me toward softer car scents too.

I used one for a couple of weeks and took it off to check, no marks or damage on the vents. Just don’t force it when attaching or removing.
