Hi all,

Some friends and I are planning a trip to Montreal to watch the F1 Grand Prix in late May. Just wondering if anyone has been to this race and would be willing to share their thoughts on seating, do's and don'ts, or any other advice for the trip.

This will be my first F1 race, and I'm really looking forward to see it.

Thanks everyone.

Hello,

I have been to the Montreal F1 couple of times and it was great. Depending on your budget the Paddock club is the best spot to watch. You get to see the cars coming into the pits and a lots of action. Another option is around the circled section in the picture below. I would recommend getting ear plugs, because the constant loud noise can get a little tiring. Mind you, I saw my first race from this spot and F1 cars used to be much more louder before.

To get to the track, I would suggest taking the metro. It will be much quicker and you won't have deal with traffic/parking.

You can also use Bixi (city bike rental) to move around in the city. There are bixi bike stands everywhere and there are tons of bike paths.

There are quite a few parties/concerts/events going on around Old Montreal and Downtown area.

I hope this helps and you enjoy your time in Montreal.

Section 11 or 12 grandstands are VERY good. LONG walk but worth the effort. Be careful with ticketing. Got scammed by STUBHUB to the tune of about $2K.

I was worried about that potential. Is there another ticket dealer you would suggest?

SeatGeek is my preference but we haven’t returned. Indy Racing is WAY more convenient geographically AND financially.
