On a 2026 Turbo including the Premium and Dynamic packages (including ACC) i can seemingly not upgrade to Innodrive? Wasn’t this possible on prior model years? Does anyone have any insights on this?

J1.1 had so called Function On Demand when you could upgrade ACC to InnoDrive and/or ALK. J1.2 Taycan and Macan EV are out of luck. 100% confirmed and one of the biggest regrets for anyone not ticking the Drive Assist (former InnoDrive) box.

That’s wild. While it may be individual regret for someone ordering, for someone just looking at available stock it’s a super weird limitation.

I would think the regret would be with Porsche who is just leaving money on the table for the software unlock if the hardware is already there (tongue in cheek… I’m sure they don’t really care actually).

That makes logical sense but my sources told me that the original FoD idea was great and well received but the cost of managing it was more than it was worth it as Porsche is really bad at this or whoever they chose to manage it.

We do have, now distant in time, successful FoD activation of ALK for a 2024 Taycan Turbo owner with ACC in the US for a one time cost. However, we have not seen any recently reported FoD upgrades for J1.1 in the US. Some EU owners were able to activate it for a monthly cost, but again that is now distant in time. Therefore, there is no way to confirm that the FoD is available for J1.1 in case anyone with J1.1 and ACC reading this and still wants to try to activate ALK and/or InnoDrive as they are activated separately for a one time cost.

Has anyone else seen that this company now offers to activate InnoDrive for J 1.1 and J 1.2? I wonder how feasible it is and whether it could lead to warranty issues later. I’ve only heard of them in connection with Matrix headlight activation. At least for J 1.2, I believe ACC hardware needs to be present and the factory won’t install it unless the option is checked when the car is ordered.

Oh wow that’s very very cool if it works. For me personally - the gap is an existing ACC spec 2026 and i wanted to add Innodrive… if Porsche won’t support it, I’m glad other companies are filling the void. I’ll keep an eye out for any reviews / feedback on this before hitting the go-button.

I purchased ALK in January for my 2024 and as of now I can still purchase PIRM and InnoDrive.

I was happy to also be able to purchase PIRM on my ‘22 When I got her last month. PID was already on it, so don’t know about that one (love it, by the way!)

I think the key gap here now is that Porsche in their infinite weisheit no longer allows these after-build add-ons for J1.2 taycans.

I've had the same issue when looking at J1.2. Not many have that option unfortunately.

Honestly I only want ALK as Innodrive is pretty useless for me but with my current car that was an option I could purchase separately via FoD.

At least here in Europe it is still available as off today on J1.1. I have ordered ALK previously and still have the option to add Innodrive, PIRM, Power steering plus and PDLS+. The only change is that it's no longer available as a monthly thing so you have to pay for permanent activation.

This is helpful and makes sense as they want to simplify and just let you pay one time to enable permanently. There may be a chance they will do it for J1.2 but so far given that even Macan EV cannot get Drive Assist enabled after purchase is not a good sign.

Most dealerships doesn't know much about Innodrive.
They even promised J1.2 ACC can add innodrive via the portal.
But after Porsche NA.confirmed they took that option off the menu.
I had to hunt for ultra rare specs that spec with it.
Most dealerships think its no big deal without it ... but its such a basic & must have option for anybody who lives anywhere that deal with traffic ~

Is innodrive any good? Debating purchasing it via FoB.

Although I hate every form of cruise control I like the innodrive. I always turn it on in passive mode, so the car still reacts to any occurrence immediately. Like for instance traffic jam at a stoplight; as soon as throttle is released she starts recuperating (brake) until standstill. Also the lane keep warnings are active, but without the annoying steering actions.
With PID turned off these systems are also off. However, this might be different in J1.2

Innodrive feels more passive ~
similar to Mercedes's ADA DISTRONIC, the car drive itself & whenever you feel like you can take over without disengage. Its more of assisting drivers instead of Tesla's FSD/Autopilot , you have to fight for control !
