Hi everyone,

I went to the dealership yesterday to get a quote for the following configuration:

Porsche Taycan About to order - Config check 1

I'm struggling to make a final call on the color without seeing it on the actual car. I'm hesitating between Dolomite Silver and Ice Grey. I was initially going to choose the latter based on the online configurator rendering but then I saw some pics on this very forum and it looks a lot more "white" than I expected. If you've seen it in real life, is it as "white" as it appears to be on photos? If so, I'll go with Dolomite Silver as I'm not a big fan of white.

By the way, is there any option you think I should either add or remove from my configuration (rear wheels steering for instance) ? This will be my very first Porsche, so I'm hopefully not making too many bad or uninformed decisions :)

Thanks a lot for your help!

checking now - will not advise on color - it's a highly subjective and personal choice…

consider 14 way seats w/massage - wife loves the massage feature - it was a surprise favorite
all the drive options improve the vehicle for it's driving dynamics - if you can afford it I'd suggest them all - leaving them off means you're not experiencing a porsche at it's best
  • PTV+ - yes
  • PDCC - yes
  • Rear Axel Steering - parking and tight turns - big difference for a long car - yes
  • I've used the HUD in a eTron - it's great - particularly with NAV
  • Move to inno-drive to get active lane keeping - adaptive cruise control + active lane keeping is really really nice on longer trips
  • $0 25ft charging cord - take it
if it's your first porsche you should experience the "best" porsche has to offer - and that means checking all drive-train/suspension tweaks - the car's are magical with all the bits added on.

Sorry but this is more or less the entry level and so PVT and PDCC make no sense - you won't experience and therefore won't miss what they do.

20" rather than 21" wheels and keep the std brakes.

Extended leather is worthy as you'd appreciate daily.

Ice Grey is white really so silver but consider volcano grey.

Rear axle steering at a push but depends what you are used to. No longer than a Panamera (for example).

Overall if you want a true appetiser then go 4S and skip some of the toys.

Depend on the budget off course. But Porsche are fantastic cars also in their base forms. If there’s equipment you haven’t missed in previous cars you probably won’t miss it on a Porsche either. I took the Ice Gray for white metallic when i saw it. But in sunlight it has a grey-bluish hue not present in a white metallic.

I have a CT4S on order and have to lock the spec in three weeks so am enduring similar spec agonies!

I do love the CT design wheels you have specced but, for the first time ever, I am agonising over whether these tip the balance of form over function when compared to the 20" aero wheels.

Apart from the usual considerations (cost, risk of kerb damage etc), 20" aero wheels give you a small (but significant) range increase and, from what I have picked up over various forums, are a little quieter with less tyre roar. Like you, I have specced the noise insulating glass and am wondering if it is self defeating to add noisier tyres to a car that is otherwise the peak of serenity!

Personally, I'm still deciding but am tending towards 'function over form' and the 20" aero at the moment...

.... But then again, those 21" wheels DO look good...!

Nice configuration
I hesitated myself between dolomite and volcano silver. Dolomite suits the car better IMO.

I would change wheels for aero turbo (not s) design and put that extra $ in
- black roof rails
- panoramic roof
- Taycan 4 "in black" at the rear
- off road package vesuve

Thanks a lot everyone!

I'll add the rear axle steering and go with Dolomite Silver instead of Ice Grey. I also removed the Taycan sign at the rear, it looks a bit cleaner without it (in my humble opinion).

Re. the 21" wheels, I'd definitely prefer to go with something a bit smaller, but I really want black wheels so I guess I don't have a ton of options...

I'll see it in person on Thursday, my dealership has just one Cross Turismo to showcase for literally just a day! Super excited :involve:

Is it by any chance the dealership in Antwerp? My build locked the day before the CT was announced, but I still want to see one in person.:giggle:

No it's the one in Mont-Saint-Guibert but you need an appointment to see it.

Quick follow-up: I saw it today at the dealership.

The good news is that it looks absolutely freaking amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice, especially the back that looks insanely sporty and aggressive IRL. And I loved it despite the ugly Aurum wheels :CWL:

The bad news is that I saw a Dolomite Silver Taycan (not CT) outside as well and I really disliked the color. It looks a lot more blue than I expected. In fact, it's almost more a light blue than a silver if you ask me. I'll go and see the Ice Grey tomorrow morning in another dealership but I expect it to look almost white, which I also don't like. That's really annoying, because I really want a light silver for this car

It was a black one. It looks perfect from every angle but really, the back is what impressed me the most. It's a lot more sporty than the Panamera Sport Turismo for instance.

In other news, I finally saw an Ice Grey today... and I loved it! I was expecting it to be basically white, but it's actually very different. Here's a pic of the Ice Grey in the front and a white one in the back to show you the difference.
