Car arrives next week. What should I do first?

Got notification yesterday that the car should arrive at the dealership this weekend. After some inspections and detailing, she'll be ready for me.

I've been staring at the mini Taycan on my desk for 3 months, and have the house wired for 240v (thanks to advice in this forum).

What should I do on day one? Are there PCM configurations that you suggest I make immediately? Features I should check out at the dealer before driving off the lot? Youtube videos I should watch? Fight the urge to drive through a Chick-fil-A and get that "new chicken smell" for the interior?

make sure it charges before leaving the dealership - if possible check both normal L2 AC charging and fast charging.

After a little bit of fun, get the home charging setup. Find out if your power company has TIme of Use charging. If using the PMCC connect it to the wall. Set up your location based departure timer and SOC charge level (now recommended at 80%). When all that is working, review the threads on how to jump a dead 12v battery.

After that, lots more to do.

Spend some time pouring through the menus in the PCM to familiarize yourself with the menu options, setup CarPlay if you have an iPhone, add your favourites to the radio, etc. The PCM has so many nested menus that it is good to get to know the system. Have fun and congratulations!

Get ceramic coating! I did, and I’m really satisfied with it. It’s best to do it when it’s brand new.

I should be getting mine next week and will schedule it for PPF on the whole front end ASAP. Would be so frustrating to have a rock chip the paint right after purchase, so figure it’s priority number 1.

I would say first just DRIVE THE CAR. Go around, try different modes, just "settle" into the car.

Then spend some time as said above to set up the PCM settings to your liking. But keep in mind you may change things after living with the car for a while.

Then spend some time reading through the manual (yes that thing, the piece of paper).

Get ceramic coating! I did, and I’m really satisfied with it. It’s best to do it when it’s brand new.

That’s exactly what I did after picking mine up. Hand car wash, alcohol wipe down, no clay bar needed, then 3 coats of SiO2 over 24 hours. Then final coat of silicone dioxide spray finish. Duct tape won’t even stick to it.

Check the paint thoroughly and request credit for polishing it - new car paint quality is complete crap and get ceramic - helps a ton to keep it clean.

Check if pmcc is in the trunk - some did not have it

Configure profile - minimum charge level that you want it to do always when connected AND timer - that should have target charge set to 80% and time should correspond to a) when you have best price for electricity b) another timer to preheat before you leave

note that range mode lowers car significantly enough to bottom out on rough surfaces

and.. drive ignore the brake pedal clunk noise, it will go away. Ignore super high consumption, it will go away. And beware of the sudden acceleration that happens on right foot interaction with the pedal

Don't get freaked out by scary stories of technical mishaps you may read on this (excellent) forum. Most of those are indeed real but also infrequent and usually more of nuisance. No disrespect intended for the fellow forum members who reported on the odd serious glitch such as power cutting out while driving.

If you have comfort access and you put PPF you won't be able to swipe the front end to open the front trunk.

Also if they remove the side mirrors to hide the lines of the PPF only a Porsche centre can re-pair them with the PCM. Otherwise the PCM will show them as missing.

I have full PPF and ceramic. No problem with the comfort access of the frunk.
Just need to find the sweet spot.
