Well WTF?! Hopefully there is a fix for that. As noted above, the car was not charged for a couple days - not plugged in.
This is old news (TSB attached) 2020 - and was allegedly addressed with WMA5/6/7.

" A software solution is currently being developed and is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2021. "

Maybe not fully addressed in software update recall? which I had a couple weeks ago.

Could be but that's a worry as we were all led to believe they'd addressed it.

I've always used the preferred times since day 1 and will continue to do so as I've not experienced any problems. I do have PLC enabled to the vehicle (since day 1) and disabled elsewhere. Seems to be a particular build / country specific location where these issue manifest themselves perhaps?

It could also be that the timers rely on good reception to the car for data connectivity. If that's lacking, it might stay 'alive' longer than necessary while hunting for a better signal.

Don't think that's how it works. The only comms at play during charging are the car to the charger as the car controls all charging - your wall box (PMC+, PMCC, other) controls the the electrical supply). When charging is complete the PMCC transmits charging data to My Porsche (PMC+ can't as it typically has no connectivity unless on ethernet.

If you charge elsewhere i.e. public charging stations then you don't get any charging data uploaded to My Porsche which more or less confirms the charging communication path.

The potential drain related to PLC connectivity but this has been addressed.
