Just got confirmation that mine will arrive without:
- Second key fob/remote
- TPM control unit
- Telephone console (charger and signal booster?)
- Control unit for acoustic simulator (external?)

Only the TPM control unit is required to be installed before delivery. Interesting that it looks like I’m getting the electric steering column though. 4S CT, built early August, delivery mid-Oct in CA

I’m based in Munich, Germany and work pretty high up in the Auto Industry.
I ordered a fully optioned T4S in Neptune Blue in April with an initial build slot of late June.

It then got pushed to mid July with very little notice.

on the 21st of July I was then told the day before it would not arrive.

new date 2nd of September - another 6 weeks delayed.

this week the car still didn’t arrive. The dealers are useless and have no information and I’m 3 hours from the factory.

any suggestions?

I'm in the exact same situation

Has the dealer checked the status of your car in the system ?

Yes as of Thursday it had not even updated. I have a call with the Manager of the dealer on Monday.

Push them for compensation. They will do it.

My status has not moved for 6 weeks now (delivery mid september) but I suspect the status to be inaccurate. My dealer said there would be some financial compensation as they could not offer me a courtesy car.

Yes I’m told I’m getting €49 a day but there is a dispute as to when that should start and I haven’t seen anything written on paper.

hugely disappointing from the Brand, I don’t mind waiting, I understand the situation better than most.

I just want them to be proactive with the communication and information.

My car arrived at port 7/30 to San Diego, took 3 weeks to ship to dealer (missing Sun Sensor). Sun Sensor arrived yesterday and is now installed today waiting to be picked up. I ordered out of state, so, it took about 1 month delay after it hit port just for those wondering the current status.

I wouldn't be surprised if delays to be more common, as it sounds like they are finally running low on supply. Mostly the TPMS and Sun Sensors which apparently are used in a lot of vehicles, vehicles are also being delivered without the electronic steering column (to be retrofitted when parts come in).

TLDR; Porsche is no longer immune from the chip shortage.
Sounds like you got lucky. Mine was at the port on the 23rd July and with no update from the dealer when I asked a few days ago, I can only assume it’s still at the port ?

Ordered back in may. Hope to get it in October. MY22
How are you anticipating you will get a MY22 in October when you ordered a MY21 in may? Would love it to be true but just don’t understand the logic.

these people have never been trained in such situations. that's why nothing comes proactively or lies, realistic answers or apologies are seldom.

It would be interesting for me - if the car comes without a TPMS, second key, electric steering column, etc. and you take over the car, how it is then financially handled. do you all get a discount and then pay for the missing parts when they are delivered and installed?

As a customer, when you take over you could say to turn the whole thing around - the money is tight at the moment (just like the built-in parts) and I'll give it to you later when I have it. But I'll take the car with me straight away. I would be really curious about the reactions of the sellers.

Agreed. My ‘21 ordered in May won’t be delivered until late November, hasn’t finished production and has been confirmed as a ‘21. When I inquired as to the logic of taking a car that’s effectively a year old when MY22’s are potentially on the same ship I was told that the ‘22’s will definitively be delayed as well.

I understand that these are unprecedented times but it would be nice to get some definitive facts instead of speculation.

AFAIK, it’s not possible to deliver the car without TPMS.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my progress as well. I ordered my 2021 Taycan in late April with an expected delivery in late July. It arrived 2 weeks late but is now at the dealer with a missing sun sensor, like others have mentioned. It has been at the dealer for 2 weeks now and no ETA on the part at this time. Currently at 1 month overdue (4 months total from order date).
My sun sensor arrived on Aug 30 and was installed the same day. The dealer emailed me the night before saying it would be coming; that’s how short of notice they received. I picked it up on Aug 31. It’s an amazing vehicle. Total time was 4 months and 1 week, or 5 weeks past the expected delivery time.

Stay patient guys, it’s worth the wait to get it just the way you want it!
