I just checked TYD and delivery date, for MY21, has further been delayed to 12/24. I do not think that this is acceptable to get a MY21 end of December not to mention that it could get further delayed and actually get delivered in 2022.

For background, I placed the order on June 21 for June 28 lock date. The car started production on July 19. At time of order it was supposed to be delivered on September 3rd.
since then it has been delayed to October 8 then November 26 and now December 24.

For anyone in the same situation as myself, I think we should do something together to raise this issue with Porsche. Please let me know if you are having the same situation and ideas on how to address this.
Is it that it is delayed at the production line because of CHIPS etc. Or the shipping. I love on the West coast and my car was shipped and sat in Long Beach for almost 1 month and this was precovid. My Kitchen cabinets which were shipped from Italy also Sat in Long Beach for almost 2 months...

Update on my '21 CT Turbo (entered body shop 7/30, original completion date 8/27): It was just delayed again. It sat for a long time with an estimated 10/15 completion date, just shifted to 11/12.

Yee-haw!

CT4, lot of options. Ordered late March, delivery took place today in Helsinki, Finland. All bits on board, nothing left behind to delivered later.

First impressions are quite favourable. Very happy with my choices.

Will post pics to other threads.

Curious, did your car finish production? Were you assigned a VIN?
It has a vin. I got the email it finished production and according to my SA it hasn’t been past the final part in production CP8 I believe.

I March I was given Sept 1 as a delivery. Then in July I was given Oct 1. Then in Sept I was given sometime no later that Nov 14 - a Sunday. The Vancouver dealer cannot find out the cars status. Customer Support in Canada passes me over to Customer support in the US. For the App they told me I could t use it as it was only good in North America. Frankly I think Porsche has no concept of customer support or relations. I’ll wait a week or so to see what is next. If another delay I will try to cancel the order

Mine finished production July 20 and has a VIN. No one knows where the car is though. Time to buy something else.

How did you get the VIN? My car went into production on July 20th and nary a word has been uttered or transmitted to me in regards to its current state since.

No the link works fine it’s simply that the last confirmed update shows the car as entering production on 07/20…. no further updates as to its current status.

Does it say estimated times of completion for the next steps in the journey?

Yes, estimated dates are there but slipping. Estimated completion date and CP8 was originally 07/27, it’s slipped 4x and currently shows an estimated date of 11/15

Yup that’s what I believe how it is shown for all of us, me included.

It is important to put things in perspective.
Dealers and salespeople make no money until a vehicle is delivered.
Porsche makes no money until we pay for our vehicles.
No one in this chain cares to delay delivery. All incentives are aligned to accelerate delivery.

I posted some illuminating facts in another thread:

Just talked to the largest dealer in northern CA (13th in the U.S.).
NO inventory. Period. (have a few Macans and Cayans - no sports cars, no mid-engine cars)

Cars on dealer auction are being bought at over MSRP by dealers (if one even comes available)

Last ordered Taycan and 911 were delivered with ONE key (not enough chips for two) and base-model Taycan arrived with a mechanical steering column adjuster to be retrofit some time in the future.

Another Taycan arrived at the dealer without a sun-sensor necessary for climate control and had to be withheld from delivery until the sensor arrived.

The LAST Turbo S allocation received was in May (!) (my allocation). Dealer is just taking deposits for all models - no allocations. Example: 13 on the waitlist for a 4S.
Today, this article was posted "Ford’s sales fell 27 percent in the third quarter because of chip shortages." (not to mention Honda’s sales fell 11 percent and Chrysler’s 19 percent. Toyota's total for September declined 22 percent)

In my own business (Operational AI for manufacturing), all of my automotive customers are struggling because of chip shortages. We're way past rotors, caps, and points!

As far a "resale" value - in time (years from now) our MY2021's that get delivered in 2022 will be considered old. But there won't be many MY2021s relative to future years (fingers crossed). There won't be a large traunch of MY2021s to pull down the resale market value of the vehicles.

That dealers today are paying higher than MSRP at dealer auctions tells how tight the market is.
