UV protection from insulated glass

Porsche claims that the insulated glass has enhanced UV protection.
I had read that car front winshields generally block UV, but not necessarily the rest of the windows. I take UV pretty seriously and will dress when I'm driving as if I'm outside in the sun.

Anyone know how good the insulated glass is for UV protection? Any good as a layer of typical clothing? Better?

Any regular glass does a pretty good job of blocking UV.

The insulated glass also does a pretty good job of blocking cell phone reception.

I have the insulated glass. When I spec my next car, I will take the standard glass and add a light tint for protection.

Here on earth where we are protected by the ozone layer, UVA is the ultraviolet band from solar emission that still penetrates the atmosphere enough to hurt us. Glass in windshields is not as effective at blocking UVA as plastics like those used to provide shatter protection in windshields, and to provide sound and thermal attenuation in the Taycan's optional windows.

Sorry, no. I don’t have the split meter (two independent parts) which can measure glass transmissivity without access to the edge.

I see the tool shines and measures the light from a its own source. I'm guessing for the glass roof same or better UV and infra-red filtering, and better light filtering with the shade on.

I used this to test our factory Mercedes W223 sunroof (24% VLT) and windshield (74% VLT).
The windshield is IR-reflective version and the side windows are laminated (80% VLT).

The Taycan we test drove with a fixed panoramic roof is significantly darker tint (lower VLT %) and the sun did not bother us at all, compared to getting back into the Mercedes and wanting to close the sunroof visor right away.

If I can, I will make it over to the dealer to test one of their fixed pano roofs in the showroom. My eyes think it is 10% to 15% VLT.

Just checked and the fixed glass panoramic roof is 4% VLT
