Random question for you speed lovers--- any one have experience with the Lucid Air Sapphire?
I know its the faster car but how is the interior and overall quality? And how is the driving feel/experience? Is it like the Plaid (which I owned) or more truly sporty with proper chassis dynamics that this amazing Taycan has with PAR.

No Im not dumping my GT LOL; just asking for some possible first hand experience either via ownership or a test drive. The car is hardly available used anywhere so I cant even test it myself.

$25k deposit and you can drive a Sapphire at a Studio.

I sat in a Sapphire and drove a Grand Touring (850hp).
It sits higher, more luxurious, less sporty interior, tons of room, good build quality/material/Fit & Finish.
There are a out 150 built it looks like.

Drove the Grand Touring and the issue was the suspension compared to the Taycan. Lots of understeer and not having air suspension is a minus.
Again you sit higher which I like to sit on the floor like a sports car.
Steering feel wasn't anything special and the steering wheel shape doesn't compare to a Porsche

Thanks Paul--- the thing Ive read is that the Sapphire handles completely different than their Luxe models. Or I guess what the reviews and VIR laptimes have shown. I think the Sapphire has springs too but different rates along with different coded dampers hence my ask here.

Yes the Sapphire has modified suspension.
The Savagegeese video does a good job explaining why the Taycan suspension is better and even why the Sapphires torque vectoring isn't as good as the Porsche mechanical rear differential.

I'm tempted to put the $25k deposit to put my mind at ease about the Sapphire.

Last build i saw was 135. I heard it was supposed to be 250 units

There is a used one with 7k miles for $180k for sale

Yep thats the only one I saw in the US too --- we are the same- we both want to just relax our minds one 9 second quarter at a time LOLOLOL

The Air's roofline is really low (for better aero - check how low the car is overall next time you see one on the road). This makes entry/exit trickier, and definitely also affects visibility - it's quite restricted.

The other thing is that the infotainment system's upper screen is small and oddly shaped, making it much less useful than it could be. Yes, there's another disappearing screen below that, but its location makes it less useful too, and WAY outside the driver's normal line of sight.

Finally, especially after watching the experience Jason from YouTube "Engineering Explained" had, it would be tough for me to buy a Lucid - even a used one.

You think Taycans have software issues?? You ain't seen nuthin' compared to Lucid's dumpster fire of issues.

All that said, it's unbeatable in a straight line by anything this side of a Rimac Nevera, if that's your thing.

I think Mr Smith and I have come up with a plan to possibly try the car out but I think its just something I wanted to ask about while i was in the bar drinking a cold beer. LOL

Edit: question about the glass on the Taycan--- Is the rear defrosting lines the reason lights form a halo effect at night (at certain distances)... or maybe my tint?
