I did something similar with my 4S. I was less excited to do it myself. Cost about $1,100 from the body shop associated with my dealership. I was expecting the price tag to be much worse.
I just wrapped up two years of Level 1 charging, and I am here to say that it can be done (depending on your driving habits). Not only did I charge my Taycan on a 110 volt outlet for 2 years, but I shared that charger between the Taycan and another EV. As well, I only ran my Porsche charger at...
I had a 2020 4S for about 18 months and then sold it due to some personal circumstances unrelated to the car. About 18 months ago I went to a 2025 Turbo. My 4S was largely trouble free although like many folks I dealt with a broken heater and sluggish PCM. I was excited to move to a 2025 because...
I had an almost identical thread about a year ago. After a lot of investigation, I came to the conclusion that the car's tire pressure readings just are not as good as high quality gauges.
I usually can make any car seat work, but I really struggled with the 18 way seats in my 2020 Taycan. After two hours of driving, I would really suffer. When I went to a 2025 Taycan, I went for 14 way seats and find them very comfortable. I agree with others that the 18 way seats can be tough...
For me the range difference between my 2020 4S and my 2025 Turbo is a game changer. I often visit places that were on the edge of the range of my 2020. I either had to chance it or work in a stop. With the 2025, I don't even have to consider a stop.
Same issue here with multiple Google phones. All phones are up to date.
I have noticed that a phone reboot will sometimes help. Also, taking the phone out of my pocket and away from all my various keys also helps at the margin.
I don't have similar issues in my Kia...
I am surprised your insurance company would be OK with him driving. When my son (now 17) got his license, my insurance initially went to almost $1k / month. To get my insurance back down to a semi sane number, I had to commit that he would only drive the Taycan in the case of a medical emergency...
My 2025 has been flawless. I have had it for just shy of a year, and it has yet to go back to the dealer for anything.
That said, the only issues I had with my 2020 were very minor things or software recalls.
I didn't have rear steering on my 2020 Taycan but added it to my 2025 Taycan because I found the car to be a bit large to park without it when I was in tight parking garages.
I had a 2020 4S for about two years, sold it, waited about two years and then got a 2025 Turbo.
The biggest difference for me (aside from the power boost going from 4S to Turbo) is the range increase. I take my Taycan skiing a fair bit. Because it can be quite cold, range suffers. Many of my...
Independent Motors in Boulder has done my tire swap a bunch of times. I too am looking for a place in Denver.
FWIW - I see a lot of 911's at Discount Tires around Denver.
I can definitely relate to some of the stories here.
That said, things are changing quickly.
When I got my first Taycan almost five years ago, I would often pull up at EA and be the only one there for the entire time except for perhaps an ICE vehicle or two. I would struggle to get any of the...
Winter tires will give you way more confidence in the snow. If you can, get winter tires and swap them. Summer tires are going to be treacherous in Chicago during the winter.
I have had two sets of wheels on some cars, but these days I just go with one set of wheels and two sets of tires. Pros...
