Not sure if you are having the same issue as I had, but I had something similar. Read the post here - https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/charging-plug-stuck-in-port-and-won%E2%80%99t-release-car-is-stuck-in-garage.1648/#post-20868
We kept tugging on the plug and it eventually came out. Will visit the dealership in the next few days to see what happened. Seems like the plug release button may have just been sticky, but we will see what the dealership finds.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I have tried all of the above as well everything from tugging on the emergency unlock cord more to talking to the car. No joy so far. I think Porsche will have to step in here. I think the car is literally stuck.
Just got my 4S two days ago and am now running into a weird issue. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this.
I charged the car once and on the second time I went to charge it, I noticed that it was not charging. I then went to release the plug to try again, but I couldn't release the plug...
Ah, now that I look at it more closely, the electrician didn't install the 14-50 even though that is what is on the invoice. He did 6-50r. Sounds like I need to get him to swap that out. Thanks for the help everyone.
Just got my car yesterday so I am a bit of a newbie on these issues. You say that NEMA 14-50 is a standard, but are there not multiple types of 14-50 plugs? My Porsche charger came with a NEMA 14-50P. However, my electrician appears to have installed a 14-50R. Which plug is used in the RV...
I will be interested to see how the Porsche experience compares to Audi. I wish I had been in and out in 45 on my Audi purchases. The more common experience was that I agree on a price over the phone and then go in and get paperwork that says a higher price. I complain and they go back to fix...
Wow, if you drive the Z in the winter, I think you are in for a big traction upgrade too with the Taycan. All it takes is about 2 flakes of snow and I struggle to keep the back end of my Z from kicking out. As such, my Z sits in the garage all winter. I plan on driving my Taycan all year...
This is what I am coming from - 2004 350Z Roadster. No satellite radio, no nav, no Bluetooth, no aux-in, not even an easy way to add an aux-in cord. Heck, the iPhone didn't even come out for another 3 years after my car was built. Pretty sure the Taycan setup is going to be a big upgrade. :-)...
How is everyone getting the status of their cars? My dealer has been closed for several weeks. They are responding to emails, but they say they don't have remote access to Porsche ordering systems. They also mentioned that customers cannot access the data themselves.
I am a long-time Japanese sports car loyalist, but I want to go electric. The high performance electric options from the Japanese manufacturers are zip. I have toyed with buying a Porsche over the years, but the Taycan really sealed the deal for me.
I don't have enough time in the Taycan to say other than that the Taycan is going to be much more livable day to day while still providing a very high level of performance. As you know, with the GTR you feel every crack in the road. The Taycan definitely soaks all that up.
This goes without...
Went for my test drive today. For background, I have owned sports cars for the better part of three decades, but this will be my first Porsche purchase. I have owned Japanese sports cars (e.g., 3rd gen RX-7, 350Z, WRX, etc.). That said, I have driven Porsches before and have riden in them...
I still am going to get the Taycan, but I am definitely nervous about the range. I live in the Denver area and have been mapping out my common routes. I often drive to the mountains and back which is anywhere from 150 to 400 miles roundtrip. Plus the routes have a lot of elevation gain and...
I just got a call from my dealer in Denver that they had a January build slot for me for a 4S. I passed on this slot because I am big guy and want to sit in the car before I commit. I was surprised they had a slot for me so soon. I only put in a deposit about nine months ago and was number 12...
