I had a '72 240Z...louvers on the back. White with black wheels...so many good memories...pretty useless added comment on this thread but what the heck!
I have heard you can get some discounts on dealer stock (3-5%) but they're not discounting custom orders. Depending on how much you put down as a deposit on your custom build there may be an opportunity to "deal or walk" from that money...but that's a game of chicken ultimately. I did get dealer...
Ok guess I’ll ask one more inane question. Isn’t it more ideal to NOT have the u-turn in the short cord from the outlet to the charger? Meaning more like @wmras? Or does it not matter? Also worth saying I won’t have the dock - I realize the dock requires the u-turn.
Hi @daveo4EV - me again. More clarification questions if you don’t mind. I bought the TeslaTap 80a. But I also want to charge at 48 amps at my house. So I believe I need the Tesla Gen 2 charger. But still unclear on circuit and outlet requirement. Right now I have 14-50 with 6/3 wire planned to...
Anyone in the Tri-State get the PFF / Xpel clear wrap / another paint protection product? Location and cost? Is it really necessary? My new baby lands in the US 10/9 a week ahead of schedule!
All - anyone know how to track your build once it gets loaded on the ship? My dealer report says it's going to "Entry Port Emden" tomorrow (Entry into US / Exit port Davisville on 10/9) and I know a bunch of you have been able to track. Thanks for the assist!
@Jaymo - man I'm so happy with my build...a 4S in dolomite with SportDesign - only two differences between what's coming for me is all black Mission E's and a manual charger door...but DAMN she looks great!
Another newbie question: assuming you have a TeslaTap, is this road trip a lot easier by also utilizing non-super Charger Tesla locations? And what’s the process for using those (e.g. reserving / paying)?
I’ve read so many things my head hurts. So @daveo4EV - seems you have a lot of knowledge here. I’m having a 14-50 receptacle installed to a new 50a circuit. I think that’s the standard move. I purchased the PMCC but I’m reading it’s only going to handle a max of 32a producing far less than the...
Gorgeous. My Dolomite / all black Mission E’s supposedly went into production yesterday. Delivery in CT mid-Oct fingers crossed. Such a great look. ALSO - SportDesign looks amazing. So glad I picked that as well for my 4S.
I went 4S for all the same reasons. Trick it out with SportDesign and 21 Mission E’s and you won’t miss the .6-ish diff in 0-60 acceleration with $30K still in your pocket. Launch control in Sport+ still gives you all you need IMHO. Car comes Oct 16 (crossing my fingers date holds).
Man that’s a hard question - it’s purely about what style you like - contrast or no contrast. For me, I like the all black wheels. But Dolomite is lighter color so higher contrast. Good luck - both colors / styles will look amazing.
